Good product, really cool. Good picture AVI

(4 out of 5) by Jonathan A. Francis on Mar 17, 2009 (Florida)
This is really cool. Some precautions need to be taken.
Dont install the software the ringz studio stuff is junk, videos play fine with kmplayer or video lan player these are free. You might get 1.5 hours of record. but the likelihood is you will lose the recording.
Record about 45min tops at a time, let it stop and record then you can add more. If it stops you will lose your recording. I like this thing and recommend. I paid 35.00 total for it from CK Electronics dont over pay it is Chinese and not worth the 70 plus some try and get. Hope this helps.

Decent device for the money

(3 out of 5) by Jeff Johnson on Jul 7, 2009 (Austin, Texas)
Met most of my expectations and does a fairly good job for the price. Not a great camera but does the trick if you set your expectations properly and work with it to understand it's capabilities and limitations. An OK stealth camera but has it drawbacks such as it has to be held very still to get a good recording which is tough to do in a real world situation. It also has to be relatively close to the subject being recorded since there is a limit to its optical quality. The sound is OK but can be difficult to understand what is being said at times. There's new instructions that make more sense and my Vista system recognized the device and loaded the driver automatically. All in all I would say that it's a decent recording device to have some fun with.

Cool gadget, nice TOY for this price

(4 out of 5) by Cristian Moca on Jul 12, 2009 (Anaheim,CA USA)
You could watch the videos you recorded with your pen using KM Player (google it and you can downloaded very easy)
I used a gift certificate when i bought this product,so i wouldn've been so upset if the product wouldn't work ,but i'm actually surprised what a cool TOY i have in my hands..
Don't buy it if you need extra quality though ,buy it just because it's a cheap Chinese stuff that you can actually play with..

Bad design

(2 out of 5) by LockjawAl on Nov 16, 2009 (USA)
It looks like a good idea but the microphone is located in the back of the pin behind the cameras. What this means is that if you place it in your shirt pocket (like most people would), you lose or reduce the ability to capture clear audio as the mic is laying against your chest. So basically you have a choice: Face it forward for clear video, or face it backwards for clear audio. Of course you could lay it on a surface (table. shelf, etc.), but you will still suffer a degradation of either the video or the audio depending on which direction the pen is facing (not to mention the image will be sideways). Also, the pen does not accept standard replacement ink cartridges. Once the ink runs out, that's it. All in all, it's an interesting toy, but definitely not recommended for professional or serious use as a spy tool.

this is really cool , for the price , audio is really sensitive if you have it too close it may be distorted , but it works.
