What a great surprise!
After looking for a small, white, kitchen TV in all the stores, and finding nothing at all that would be appropriate, I found this one on-line. After reading the mostly good reviews written for it (both the black version as well as this in white), I decided to take a chance and order it without first seeing it "in person." It arrived within two days, and it was terrifically simple to set up. I have obviously been living in the dark ages with the small 9" kitchen TV it replaced. It's a perfect size for the table top, the color and sound are superior to the old one, the various features and options are fabulous to now have in the kitchen -- a variety of picture sizes, shapes, and modes (yes, "movie" seems the best) and even the DVD option will be useful too I bet. I like the wide screen and size in general for this small spot, and it should all look even better when they switch everything over to digital within the month and I get my adapter box. I agree, there is a few second's delay when switching channels, but that seems to be the only fault I can find and it's pretty minor to me. The red light is no problem at all and a tiny light in the kitchen at night isn't a bad thing! This has been a really pleasant surprise!

Toshiba LCD TV
I was looking for a white or silver tv for my kitchen. Very difficult to find an under the cabinet height white tv - so was excited to have found this. I was disappointed when it arrived because it did not have the holes necessary to mount it underneath the upper cupboards with mounting hardware. I had read reviews indicating this was a problem on smaller Toshibas so I made the effort to call, before ordering and verify that this one could be mounted. The sales/service people assured me this model could be mounted. That was not accurate. This model can not be mounted (has no mounting holes) and the stand can not be removed. I haven't had this long and haven't even tried the DVD player but the picture is great so I am keeping it - it will just have to sit on the countertop.

very nice tv
We got our first hdtv - Samsung- last year after great reviews on this site. We still say "wow" when watching - great color and clarity.
To replace our small kitchen tv we purchased this one. Didn't need the built-in DVD but got it with the set. I used it once and it worked well. May use it every once in a while. This tv works great and takes up less room on counter than I thought. We say "wow" when watching it too.
What I don't like is the inch long light under the screen, blue, when the set is on, red when it is not. What a waste of energy and it is annoying. If someone knows how I can turn that off let me know please. (No, tape is not an option.) It is bright enough to be a night light.
Also, the delay in switching channels is really long. Our Samsung is slow but this is crazy slow.
We live in the country and have been using rabbit ears for 20+ years. The new RCA atennas work well for us here. The one we use with this is a very light weight plastic that is on the wall behind the set. We continue to save lots of money by not subscribing to a service.
We are pleased with this tv. And would recommend.

Disappointment
We recently bought the white 19 inch Toshiba TV/DVD which was delivered promptly. It worked fine for 2 weeks and then we lost the picture. Talking to Toshiba we were informed that we had to send the TV to its repair center where it would be repaired free of charge - BUT we had to pay for packing and shipping costing us $ 62. A new Tv should work longer then 2 weeks and if it breaks right after delivery Toshiba should pay for the shipping (which they did not do)
Had we bought the TV at a nearby shop we could have returned it and would have recived a new one - without paying!!!! This is the danger of having products shipped.

Entering the 21 century of TV
The picture is right & sharp, the addition on some channels on Hd and digital are excellent additions. The audio is excellent, provide better sound than my larger sets
