Computer didn't work out of the box!

Tried to set up the computer for my wireless internet before xmas and windows wouldn't load. H.P. Tech department sent a recovery disk and the computer wouldn't recover and still wouldn't run windows. H.P. wanted me to send it to a repair facility...I don't think so. Boxed up the computer and sent it back. Bought a Toshiba like my other two laptops.
