I guess I'm one of the lucky ones

I bought the A-Data 16GB Class 6 Turbo SDHC card to use in my Canon PowerShot A570 IS camera. (Yeah, it's probably incredible overkill, but I really wanted the large memory capacity.) While I haven't had the card for long (six weeks), I have used it extensively and have had no problems whatsoever.

On inserting the SDHC card into the camera, the card was immediately recognized and quickly formatted. The camera takes 7.1-megapixel images; this card has the capacity to store 5107 of the highest-quality photos or two-and-a-quarter hours of the highest-quality movies (according to the camera display).

Regarding data-transfer speed, I attached the card to my Dell Inspiron E1705 desktop and timed how long it took to load the empty card with several files that totaled about 14.9 GB. When plugged into the SD/MMC slot, the transfer rate was 3.37 MB per second; when attached to a USB port (through the neat adapter that was shipped with the card), the transfer rate was 6.63 MB per second. As I understand the SDHC rating system, the USB transfer rate makes this a Class 6 card with a 40x rating - the lowest Class 6 rating. The card can be used for the Microsoft "Vista" Ready-Boost feature, if you are so inclined.

The SDHC card I received was manufactured in Taiwan and shipped mounted on a factory-sealed display card, on which the USB adapter was also mounted.

Before ordering this SDHC card, I read most of the comments sent in by other purchasers - particularly the negative comments. Considering the price of the card, I felt the benefit-to-risk ratio was great enough to make the gamble of purchasing this card worthwhile.

This is the one to get!

(5 out of 5) by C. Mann on May 11, 2009 (Avon, CT)
Short review: PERFECT. FAST reading and writing. Flawless performance. The 4-in1 Reader is a GREAT bonus!! I plan on purchasing another one very soon. Capacity it terrific! The price can't be beat as of this writing. It lives up to all it's claims. I use it in my Nikon D90. No hang ups, no delays. Downloads to my PC or fast and easy - using the 4-in-1 USB reader. No need to spend 2, 3 and even 4 times the money on bigger name cards. This card performs every bit as well as the bigger name cards. This allows you to purchase more, for a lot less.
Bottom Line: GET THIS CARD!! You won't be sorry at all.
Suggestion: Use EastCoastPhoto.com through Amazon for your dedicated camera battery purchases. They are more powerful than the Nikon brand or Canon brand batteries. They are a 3rd party manufacturer seller of batteries that offer higher power and longer warranties than the brand name manufacturers. I have used them for quite some time. They ship the batteries FREE, no matter how inexpensive the order. Same thing for AA and AAA batteries.

Super SD memory card

I bought this for my cannon camera and it has awsome memory space. It holds an ungodly amount of pics and a lot of HD video, over 2 hours worth. It is well worth the purchase. I will buy more of these.

The best class 6 that I have ever used

This is the fourth one of these that I have bought this year. They are very fast and very accurate. Not once have I experienced any corrupted data. At this price it is a fantastic deal.
