Photographer field tool and navigation

(5 out of 5) by K. Smith on Jun 15, 2009 (Redondo Beach, CA)
I love this device! I can insert my Sony memory sticks to see the photos larger and do retakes ASAP. The screen on many cameras do not have the clarity that my older eyes need and this screen helps greatly. The GPS function is great - names of streets provide some humor and entertainment. Be sure to get a case as these are not kid proof toys.

nav-p-u

(2 out of 5) by Jarrett Duciaume on May 26, 2009 (Elysian MN)
Unit navigates horrible. It wants to route me to the nearest highway no matter what I do. Definately does not take you on the shortest routes. If you plan on seeing the sights this unit may work fine, but for getting from point A to point B fast this unit is not what your looking for. I only gave it two stars because of the craddle. I would not recommend this unit to anyone.

I really wanted to like it.

(2 out of 5) by Carlos Jusem on May 22, 2009 (CT-USA)
I got this GPS despite reviews noting that the routing was a bit weird, that it's an end-of-life product and that I would have to buy the proprietary Sony flash card for it. It's got a beautiful screen but I decided to return it for these reasons:
1-the routing is definitely 'unusual'; I've had other GPS's that route about the same to my work; this one took me the really long way around.
2- When you're on a highway, it tends to remind you at every exit to stay on the highway ("in one mile, stay to the left"); that gets really old on a long trip. Why can't it just tell you when to exit?
3-Bluetooth connected w/o problem, but quality was so-so.
4- Many times it gave me the wrong distances "in a 1/4 of a mile turn", when it was actually more like 50 yards; twice it told me to turn as I was passing the street.
That last one sealed its fate. I need a GPS that I don't have to train or get used to. Unfortunately Sony came late to this market, and not well prepared.

Very good GPS unit

(5 out of 5) by Mark Bucaj on May 19, 2009 (White Plains, NY)
The large screen and dedicated hot keys on the left side make this unit very user friendly. The split screen mode lets you see more information at once, which is possible due to the larger screen size on the Sony compared to other widescreen units. However, I think the best feature is the base unit, which allows you to attach the GPS to the dashboard rather than the windshield. This is a great feature. Also, the power plug goes into the base unit, not the actual GPS, making for a much cleaner installation. Overall I am very happy with this unit and it is much better than my old Magellan.

U94T

(5 out of 5) by Bryant R. Boutilier on May 16, 2009 (Hamilton, Ont)
This is the best nav system by far i have ever owned! i like the fact that you just pop it in your cradle and it's ready to go! ulike some other models you have to plug the charger cable into the unit, and when you are done with the U94T it powers down on its own, as soon as you pop it off the cradle it asks you if you would like to power down or continue to use it, if you choose to do nothing it will power down in 30 secs. The other feature i love is the fact that when you load songs, video or pictures it goes on the removable memory stick and the map data is on the internal memory so you can load media on your nav system at the same time you are using the map data.
