AMAZING Picture - See for Yourself

(5 out of 5) by Rich on Dec 8, 2008 (PA)
I've not seen many reviews of this TV but checked it out because of Mitsibishi's long standing reputation as the best of the best. The retailer showed me this one next to the Samsung 650 that has been so highly reviewed and there's no comparison - Mitsibishi wins hands down! They don't even belong in the same room together. Don't let the lack of online reviews scare you off - see the difference for yourself and you won't be disappointed! It's a few hundred dollars more (MUCH more expensive online), but worth every penny.

Beautiful Design, Beautiful Picture

(5 out of 5) by Big-D on Jan 13, 2009 (Lake Havasu City, AZ United States)
I absolutely love this television. I did a lot of research, read many reviews and personally inspected several LCD televisions before deciding on the Mitsubishi Diamond Series LT-52246 52" LCD.

PROS:
1) Absolutely beautiful picture.
2) Sharp looking; adds a wonderful décor to any room.
3) Full 52" screen, yet packaged in a smaller, very clean looking package that only takes up the space of a smaller 46" set because of the thin ¾" border around the actual screen.
4) Designs of the rear hook-ups are super easy to get too even while hanging on the wall and regardless of the plug types, nothing gets in the way.
5) The remote control has every important function that you'll need on a regular basis right at your finger tips. No hunting or scrolling through menus to find what you want to change or adjust.
6) This television has great powerful sound. When watching DVD's I run the sound through a really good AV system with Sub-Woofer, but when watching regular television programs, the factory installed sound offers surprisingly good highs and lows.
7) You can't beat Mitsubishi quality!
8) Arrived in about a week and was packaged to the hilt in protective packing material.

CONS:
1) None

SUMMARY:
After looking over several different brands, sizes and styles of LCD televisions, I had narrowed my decision down to the Mitsubishi Diamond LT-52246 52" and the Samsung LN52A750 52". What made me decide on the Mitsubishi were several things. Although both televisions have great pictures, the Samsung suffered from a sometimes bad reflection that would interfere with seeing the picture on a sunny day, the remote was a pain to operate and required a lot of fiddling to make simple changes and the border around the screen was 3" wide, making the television just too big in size. And although the Samsung was priced lower than the Mitsubishi by about $300 dollars, I read too many complaints concerning the poor customer service Samsung provided (or didn't provide). This is my forth Mitsubishi set and I've never experienced any problem with any of them!

Mitsubishi Diamond - the best LCD you never knew about !!!

(5 out of 5) by Bravissimo on Jan 18, 2009
For 2008-9, this is Mitsubishi's top model, and the quality shows through. You can only get better if you spend 2 times more for the new LED backlit models. This TV has a 16 bit processor with a 10 bit color panel, the picture is gorgeous. Most other LCDs talk about contrast ratios and black levels. Those don't matter if the TV puts out a pixelated, washed out or dark picture, with uneven backlighting and a limited 8 bit color panel (99% of what's out there).
This TV costs a little more because it is a premium LCD. You'll think your eyes are fooling you, the photorealistic picture and the effect that 120hz smooth motion adds - it just can't be described in words. Blu-Rays movies pop right off the screen.

Even better, this 52" TV fits in the same space a 46 inch Sony or Samsung fits. Samsung's has a great picture, but let me down with its fat, red TOC border and overly reflective and glossy screen. So it was a definite no-go. The Sony XBR6 is non-reflective, but it only has a 12 bit processor, and I've read enough complaints about clouding issues and the "blurriness and artifacts" the 120hz processing creates (so folks turn it off!), and it's poor processing of PC signals.
With just a little calibration to your video source (easy to google recommended settings from avsforum), this TV becomes virtual reality. Highly recommended as the best if your budget has you comparing to other LCDs like the XBR6 and the Samsung LN-52A750.

Best 52 inch LCT on the market

(5 out of 5) by Techno Man on Jan 17, 2009 (San Francisco)
Wow, what color, what sound, this TV has it all. I spent a lot of time researching TVs as I am a geek when it come to getting the best. This TV surpasses my every wish. It is simply beautiful, the colors are so vivid they pop out at you, the screen is dull (vs shinny)so that it does not reflect back to the viewer, the blacks are black, it is just the best I have ever seen. Watching NFL or college football in HD is stunning. I especially like the thin frame as I could fit into a smaller area, making the picture large but not the TV. Do not overlook this TV.

Eye-popping HiDef Picture

(5 out of 5) by JAK in Alaska on Feb 18, 2009 (Palmer, AK)
I was very disappointed in Consumer Reports for not including this 52 inch LCD TV in their recently published review, because it beats all of those they listed. I absolutely love this TV. It has no negatives. I did a lot of shopping and comparing before buying this TV at the end of December. I had to pay a premium price in Alaska from a Mitsubishi dealer, but then I got free delivery and set-up and have local support and service (IF ever needed). This TV has an absolutely beautiful picture, with very true colors and deep blacks. With its very narrow bezel around the screen, its almost like looking at an infinity pool! Other 52 inch models from other makers look overweight by comparison. The sound quality is very good also. I only use our surround sound system for DVD and Blu-ray discs and sometimes not even for those. This is my third Mitsubishi TV, and all have been great. All are still going strong with nary a failure-indicative of Mitsubishi quality.
