24 Months Interest free DOES NOT apply to Amazon Visa

(3 out of 5) by m122 on Feb 5, 2009 (East cost)
Great TV. High quality picture. Good sound.

As far a financing goes, Amazon has 2 cards available.

Amazon Visa DOES NOT give you 12, or 24 months interest free. Chase credit services knows nothing about the interest free financing and will not honor it.

You need the Amazon store card issued by GE. This card is only good on Amazon.com

Contact Amazon customer service to verify before you buy if you want interest free financing.

Disappointing DLNA and Amazon service

(1 out of 5) by T. Magnusson on Dec 19, 2008 (CT, USA)
The picture of the Samsung 850 is what it is promised. Very clear and high resolution. What has though ruined the joy, is the limited capability of the USB and DLNA connection. The menu to control the viewing of pictures, music or movies is very difficult/limited to use. If you have a large database of picture, music og movies on your USB hard drive or computer, it will be almost impossible to find the exact file your are looking for. The usage of DLNA is useless for me as it disconnects every 3 minutes and therefore impossible to view a movie.
Up to now, I have been happy with shopping at amazon.com, but this time everything went wrong which could have gone wrong. The unfortunate experience having had to try to deal with amazon.com service department left me terrified of ever ordering again at amazon.com(ordered 1 TV, got 2 TVs delivered and finally got a wrong refund to the wrong credit card)

Buyer beware!

New LN46A850 creates conflict with remote to cable receiver. When TV turned on, remote stops working. No fix to be found.

ok...i give...tell me why i want THIS one?

(5 out of 5) by Derek on Aug 23, 2008 (Richmond, VA USA)
I had essentially decided that next week i was going to make the leap and get either the 650 or the 750 from Amazon (probably the 650, because since i have a Mac computer i probably wouldn't be able to take advantage of the 750's 'computer content sharing' capabilities, is that right? I'm still not sure how that sharing thing works to be honest with you, so any personal experience info anyone might have is welcome...)

So anyway, then i happen to be in a local store today and what do i see? an '850'? What is an 850??
i asked the guys in the store what the difference was between the new '850' and the '650/750' and they said, honestly they had JUST gotten the tv in and it wasn't even in their system yet so THEY didn't even know the difference.

i looked at the picture on all three...650/750/850....i could not tell the difference...all of them are still simply beautiful and bright and wonderful...i stood there just grinning...my wife had to pull me away...

looking at the 'sticker specs' of them in the store they 'looked' to me to be pretty much the same under the hood (of course the 750 has that alleged 'computer content sharing capability that the 650 does NOT have. I couldn't tell if the 850 has the computer sharing thingy or not)...but other than that they seem exactly the same

...so tell me...please... what IS the difference between the 850 and the 650/750? Does the 850 even have the 'computer content sharing' capability of the 750? is there some other element that the 850 has that i'm just missing...?

650?
750?
850?

ahh Samsung, why do you torture me so? (in a good way i suppose)

either way...SOMETHING is going down next week...NFL season is coming up and seeing my Vikings on a big clear HD screen will be a thing of beauty...and that DOES look to be Viking star #42 Darren Sharper on the image of the 850...is it destiny?
