Works perfectly in Windows 7
The wireless connection seems just as fast as using an Ethernet cable. I have not experienced any problems at all using this device. I use it on my desktop computer, running 24-7 for the last week.
To get it to work in Windows 7, I just followed the same basic instructions for Windows Vista. (The Vista instructions appear on page 4 of the users manual.)

Works with Linux using rt73usb driver
This product uses a Ralink chip and works perfectly under Linux using the rt73usb driver provided in the kernel.
Works like a charm. You need to download the rt73.bin firmware file from Ralink, which they make available through their support website for Linux, and put it in /lib/firmware/
WPA2 security works great using wpa_supplicant.

This is a 4 star probuct!
I recently had a concern if my LinkSys network adapter was compatable with a newly installed Windows 7 operating system. I then got a Medialink MWN-USB54G adapter to replace it. Despite all my efforts, it did not work! I called Medialink for help and the Representative was courteous, patient and knowledgeable. After working with me to resolve the problem, he agreed that the adapter was defective. He then advised me that Medialink would send me a replacement unit along with a Return Merchanise Authoriztion and Return Postage Free Label for the defective adapter. The new adapter arrived within a week and works flawlessly with Windows 7 Premium! I strongly recommend Medialink's product support as well as their products!

Easy Install with XP
So far so good. I have an old desktop with XP that is going to the kid's bedroom on the other end of the house. The adapter installed with XP very easily with the CD. Once I plugged in the adapter, it read full strength on my home wireless network which is not restricted yet. I was hesitant about getting an external wireless card because of bad reviews for so many well known brands but I took a chance with this one and it appears to be working well.

Seems to 'just work'
When I received my unit, I noticed it came with a driver/install disk. So, I then had a 'bad' feeling that I might have problems installing it on my Windows 7 installation.
Tossing care into the wind, I plugged it into my laptop and went to open the install disk, to see if it might have a compatible Vista driver that might work with Windows 7. By the time I got back to my laptop, it had already installed the driver in the 'Plug and Play' manner and was ready to go! All the wireless routers surrounding my home were available, I joined and played a couple video games using the wireless in my home using this unit. The results were quite good. I decided to bring it into my office today to see how it would work with my Vista and old XP installs here, and had the same experience as I did at home.
Good unit, and a great price. :)
