Denon Receiver

(5 out of 5) by Dustin Aimes on Sep 2, 2009 (Huron, SD United States)
Wow!! This receiver is amazing. We are so glad we spent the extra money to buy this one. Fantastic sound, takes care of the variable sound issue when commercials come on. Would definitely use this vendor again, product was shipped quickly and was exactly as described.

Audissey is always a good option?

(4 out of 5) by Gilberto Dotti Cesa on Aug 29, 2009 (Flores da Cunha, RS Brasil)
I bought this receiver and after some days I got to setup it correctily ... I think. The Audissey options sounds great for some blu-rays like Ted Nugent and Incubus at Red Rocks, because these blu-rays have a weak sound ... Audissey puts them on fire, especially the drums of Ted Nugent's blu-ray. Return to Forever's blu-ray doesn't need the Audissey on, because the sound is really great!!! NIN didn't sound good either with Audissey on. Anyone thinks/hear like me???

This thing is awesome

I've been an audio engineer most of my life. Spent 43 years at ABC-TV.
Got 2 Emmys for my work. I worked everything from uontold numbeer of Wide World of Sports to 12 Academy Awards. I say this because I hope you will understand when I say...."This DENON Surround Sound
VR-2809CI IS FABULOUS!" I know whereof I speak. One tip....The setup is quite tricky. If you are new to this sort of Receiver/Amplifier, you would be wise to have it professionally installed. It handles 7 plus components for me and once it's setup you can sit back and relax. I thot I knew what I was doing and ended with a pro installation. However you go, you will not be unhappy.

Excellent A/V receiver

(5 out of 5) by Girish P. Nair on Apr 18, 2009 (Chicago, USA)
I researched many A/V receivers and finally settled for this one based on Denon's reputation. I picked this particular model as I wanted to have two independent zones. In Zone 1, I have my family room (TV + surround system). In Zone 2, I have stereo speakers to all the bedrooms. My kids can watch a cartoon in the family room, and I can listen to music in the other rooms.

I would highly recommend this product.

Another great product from Denon!

(5 out of 5) by J. Higgins on Mar 23, 2009
I purchased this as an upgrade to my existing AVR-1706. I needed direct HDMI cabling for Blu-ray Disc and some additional watts (heh-heh). The setup was slightly odd with the ASCII style menuing system, but after a bit of poking around, it all makes sense now. All of the assignable inputs make cabling a breeze. It is used for HDTV, Blu-ray and Wii and is connected to a 67" Samsung LED DLP. The Audessy setup was great and I love the multi-point listening position steps. The sound is amazing even compared to the two-year-old 1706. Great product so go buy yourself one now!
