Works great for 1080i over 50 feet!

(5 out of 5) by J. Jonaitis on Oct 25, 2008 (Vista, CA)
After much soul searching over ordering a higher-priced 50 foot cable, I bought this one. From what I read, 45 to 50 feet is the point at which you may need an HDMI extender / booster. Ordered it on a Tuesday afternoon, received it in Friday's mail (same week).

I plugged it in to my JVC DR-MV100B DVD VHS recorder combo and the other end into my Panasonic 50" plasma. As the title says, I'm running 1080i over this 50' cable and no sparkles or dropouts.

Although not mentioned in the description, it comes with ferrite cores on each end as an integral part of the cable, so make an allowance if you're fishing the wire through tight passages.

Don't waste your money on more expensive cables

I moved all of my components into another room 50' away. I hooked up these cables and the picture is perfect!! Do not buy into that you NEED to spend big money to get high end HDMI cables because you don't. These worked great.

Cheap connectors, don't move around a lot

This cable worked for what it was supposed to do, but only for about four days. I was trying to get the setup how I wanted it and after about six or seven times the end fell apart.

So if you don't plan to unplug it more than twice, this is a great connector. It's just not exactly what I'd call durable.

Why pay hundreds for a cable?

I needed some long runs of hdmi cable to connect my integra dhc 9.9 pre amp / processor to my 61 inch Samsung DLP led TV and HD cable box. I'm certain you have all seen the prices they charge at the big box electronics stores for hdmi cables, and none of them even carry ones 50 feet long. I shudder to think what they would charge if they did carry them.

I was a bit concerned at first that these long runs of inexpensive cable wouldn't work very well. They work perfectly. I am sending 1080P video and high quality surround sound digital audio through two 50 foot lengths with perfect results. No dropouts in sound or picture. No anomolies at all. They just work as well as I could have hoped. They also are robustly constructed and should hold up great over the years.
