THIS IS NOT A DVI-D TO VGA ADAPTER

(1 out of 5) by Lawrence Towers on Jul 21, 2009
This adapter is NOT! NOT! NOT! a DVI-D to vga adapter. It will only work with DVI-I connections. It does not convert a digital signal to analog!

Misadvertising

(1 out of 5) by Hank on Feb 23, 2009
The shipping was faster than expected, however, the seller indicated that the adapter being sold and shipped was a DVI-D to HD15(VGA) this was not the case. The product actually sold and shipped was a DVI-I to HD15 adapter. They are not the same, the flat pin on a DVI-I connector is wider than a DVI-D connector therefore making them impossible to use in exchange with each other.

No wonder it was so cheap

(1 out of 5) by Rickor G on Oct 1, 2009 (NY USA)
Cheap means trouble, this adaptor is worthless and I don't know why they even made it.
I got this adapter from HDE though Amazon of curse, the seller does not indicate that the adapter being sold and shipped is a DVI-D which means digital only. There is a first time for every thing and they got me this time; I should it checked before ordering, but I was in a hurry.
You see the pins on that DVI-D side C1 red, C2 Green, C3 Blue C4 Horizontal sync; are missing, the only one present is C5 for Ground. So on the VGA side pins 1, 2, 3, red, green and blue are not connected to any thing.
I paid $2.59 plus SH $5.58 not bad for the price, but id had to buy a new video card.

DVI-D to VGA

(3 out of 5) by S. Sides on Jun 17, 2009
This is a nice product, just one piece of caution; if you want to hook up a DVI-D connection to a VGA connection the monitor must be expecting a digital signal since the connector doesn't convert the digital signal to analog.
