Do you like technical problems?
If you like to spend hours trying to get a new product to work, than this is for you. The real issue started with the fact that Windows is installed on a drive with only 4gb of space, and it needs about 3gb. This steamrolled into more and more problems as I ran out of space on C very quickly. This product is terrible. I bought it to have something "easy" to use. I don't care if it's fast, powerful, cool. I just needed something that was "easy" to take around with me. Instead, I have a small pain in my backside. Don't buy this product.

no DVD drive is a pain
I got this for my granddaughter since she is so enamored with computers especially lap tops. All seems well, but when she brought it over and indicated "there is no cd or dvd player", I told her no way. I said that is like buying a car without a radio. I am new to mobile pc's but it would seem in the product specifications it should be mentioned. The connection freezes at time she tells me but other than that it seems to be a device she loves.

*** OHHHH, THE GENIUS OF IT... ***
This is a good net-book, specially considering that when you purchase a net-book your main focus should be "portability". I have nothing negative to say about this net-book, really. However, the geniuses a ASUS, they must have come out of a "Taliban think-tank" it's the only explanation I have for the fact that, they sell you a rather small 12 Gb SSD and then (... hold your breath here...) they create two partitions out of it, and for the one where Windows is installed they allocate only 4 Gb, (which as you know, ends up being only 3.5 Gb + or -)
You would say: but of course, the other partition is where the recovery files are... NOOOOO, you get a recovery DVD, for which you need an external DVD drive (not provided, by the way). Given this, I tried to merge partitions using partition Magic, and couldn't. I called on other mightier minds (thinking I was doing something wrong), and they couldn't either.
Bottom line, I got the impression that they do this just to discourage customer from buying this configuration. While the product might be good, ASUS planning has been below poor, decadent I would say. They probably want to push the bigger, more expensive stuff, but for someone that already owns several desktops and laptops this net-book is not a winner. I will simply run the idiotic recovery and give it to my wife so she can carry it in her purse (that's about the only thing it might be good for)
