I've lost track of the number of portable chargers I've purchased for my Iphone 3G/Itouch 1G/Ipod Classic 160Gb that have been worthless. I came across this unit and told myself "If this doesn't work, I just give up!" Got it home, let it fully charge off my my PC's USB port, then gave it a try. It WORKS!! I can get between 3-5 charges off of it before needing to recharge the unit. Best out there.

I got my battery pack about a week ago, and have used it a couple of times. The first time was when I was laying in bed reading an eBook with Stanza, and got the 10% remaining iPod battery alert. I plugged in the Gum battery pack, and continued reading while the iPod battery recharged. The iPod battery charged to full bars, and there was still 3 bars left on the Gum Pro battery pack.

The only negative comment I have is that the detents for the on/off switch are weak/nonexistent, so the battery pack can turn itself on/off by accident. I suspect the switch on mine is defective in terms of the 'clicking' on and off, but the actual switching of electricity works fine. Not worth sending it off to get it replaced unless the electrical switch itself fails.

Overall, I've been very pleased with the Gum Pro. It's super-high capacity, and yet compact.

This has far more power (4400 mAh) of any charger - enough to fully recharge my iphone 3g more than three times. It is not large or heavy - easy to carry around - fits in the palm of my hand and has smooth rounded corners that make it comfortable to grasp. It is about 3/4 the length of a credit card and about the same thickness as the width of my index finger.

It can also charge any mini-usb mp3 player or device with the included cable (usb to mini-usb) that it comes with (same cable that it charges with.) It does not come with an iphone / ipod cable.

Since it is so small and light, I find this a much better solution than having a one piece battery pack always attached to the iphone, making the iphone uncomfortably bulky during use. I much prefer to keep the Gum Pro and a cable in my pocket to charge or use only when needed. Of course on a plane or in the car, just stow it on your lap or in the seat pocket.

Can't beat the $60 price for the power and convenience. For $7.60 expedited shipping, Amazon vendor Macsense had it from California to my mailbox in Connecticut 3 days after I ordered it.

Most IT2G owners know that it's an addictive device, but some times you run out of juice when you're out and about. I'm not a fan of case-style or clip-on style battery chargers; and, most of them don't have enough juice to work more than 1-2 full charges. Enter the Just Mobile Gum Pro - I've gotten 5 full charges with some power to spare (I don't run my battery down to absolute depletion but it gets below 20% before I do recharge). This is one of the best power/dollar recharges for the IT2G. It takes several hours to do an initial charge of the Gum Pro itself, but the Gum Pro fully recharges my IT2G fairly quickly. Get yourself a retractable USB cord to go with it, and it's almost a perfect portable charging solution that will allow you to go a full day with the IT2G under most circumstances. Amazon 3rd party vendor delivered quickly and professionally.

The is one of those few products that will likely exceed your expectations. It is absurdly easy to use and does as advertised. I just plugged in the cord (supplied) which is a mini USB at one end, into the little brick (my nick name for this device) and the regular sized USB into the original Iphone wall jack which is USB at the other end of the 2 prongs that go into the wall socket. It fully charged in about 2 hours. My Iphone, which I had purposely ran the power down to about 5% on fully charged in about an hour. Only one of the LED's on the brick went down. With a power rating of 4400mah this unit should easily be able to fully charge a Iphone from near dead empty at least 3 to 4 times before requiring a charge of the brick. It doesn't get hot (barely warm) when used extensively, and does as advertised without confusion. It is considerably smaller than the RichardSolo devices so popular with Iphone users. For the price I think this unit is an extraordinary value and highly recommended. The vendor I purchased from was also very reliable having purchased from them before. If you have an Iphone or Ipod you simply MUST own one of these. You could power such a device watching movies in a flight from Los Angeles to Paris. Imagine that!
