This is a great product. Worked perfect out of the box. Using it as a monitor, but will soon connect the antenna to get the OTA signals for HDTV. Great price as well. All around solid product.

THIS IS A VERY UNBIASED REVIEW.....Ive been using it for about 2 days now and its great!! I have done lots of research and concluded this screen is the biggest BANG!!! for your buck..The remote is very responsive, input switching is fast, blue-rays look excellent. The downsides are little fuzzy lines that run down the screen on the VGA PC input that is barely noticeable unless you go looking for it(Could be my PC Graphic card, its old and had the same problem with my previous monitor). All other inputs are PURE high quality Hi Def, colors are vibrant.The blacks aren't the best(10000:1 Dynamic Contrast) but are more than decent when calibrated correctly.The best thing about the T240HD is the versatility.Come on guys this thing packs a headphone jack. You might laugh, but you don't know how much headphone jacks could come in handy especially for those who plan to travel with it.(and for that somebody who is looking for a PC monitor most don't have this feature).As for sound, I have read a lot of reviews about how the speakers sound cheap and "TINNY" but come on guys what flat panel screen you know delivers five star sound? The speakers are decent at normal volumes. I don't know about high volumes because I could hear it just fine at about 30-40.If I so choose to get crank up the volume more I just hook it up to my AUX input on my stereo via the HEADPHONE JACK and voila! Instant 7.1 Surround sound!! Use as a TV, PC monitor, Gaming screen for a MUCH cheaper PRICE then most monitors in its league. For those potential buyers who are considering price to picture-quality ratios, price to feature ratios, price to size ratios, price to brand name ratios. This HDTV is it!...HANDS DOWN.

I bought this Samsung 24" LCD HDTV 6 months ago to replace an old Magnavox 20" CRT in the bedroom that finally went out after 20yrs of usage. I intend to use this as a "tide-me-over" until I can afford a bigger/nicer LCD for the living room and can re-purpose this guy as a regular computer monitor. Is this Samsung perfect? No. Does it fill the void I needed it to? Absolutely. Would I buy it again? Definitely.

Pros:
- price (6mo ago I paid $299 through Amazon - which was a great deal at the time)
- no dead pixels (the last time I bought an LCD for my computer this was a problem, so I was nervous about this)
- easy HDMI hookup for peripherals (like a PS3 - which looks great on this display for gaming or BluRay watching)
- seamlessly picks up local HDTV signals
- picture clarity
- you can opt to turn off the obnoxious orange power light

Cons:
- low-light scenes are bad (i.e. you can't always tell what's going on because the screen is too black)
- on-screen menus aren't designed for standard TV usage (i.e. they're waaaay too small to read from across the room)
- sound is just "okay"

Outside of the three issues discussed below, this set (24") is fine for small viewing areas. Color and HD detail are both excellent.

One issue is the viewing angle, which is very limited, both side-to-side and when the set is elevated, for example, on a wall mount.

Another issue is dark and low-light scenes, such as night time. The Samsung picture becomes too dark making it hard to see what's going on. However, I have seen some improvement by adjusting the brightness and contrast of the picture.

Lastly, the sound is not up to Samsung's usual quality. It seems to project out to the sides and back of the set, rather than the front.

If you are looking for a small HDTV with extraordinary quality, this is not the set for you. For the less demanding viewer, this set is fine, especially considering the price ($268) and free shipping from Amazon.

I bought this TV with the expectation of wall mounting it with a VESA swing arm. Turns out that this TV doesn't have VESA compatable mounting holes. You can only buy a Samsung custom fixed wall mount for an additional $35. You can't get a refund on this TV. The TV can only be returned to Tigers Direct if it is defective.
