After several years of satisfied printing with my Canon i850, I got the dreaded seven orange blinks that indicate the printhead has failed. The Canon manual for the i850 says the life of the printhead is five years. Since my machine was older than that, I ordered the printhead QY6-0064, popped it in my machine, and it began printing immediately with excellent results. The new printhead is an exact replacement that is simple to install and is cheaper than a new printer, especially if you still have unused ink cartridges left.
Works for me!
Our i850 quit printing recently. It has always been a good printer so I decided to repair rather than replace. It is a recession you know.
Initially I tried to clean the print-head using methods found on the web. This did not produce intended results. I then bought this print head and we are back in business.

Canon Printhead
This print head from Canon worked perfectly. Haven't had any problems with the print head. The fast turn around was helpful in getting my printer back into operation.
Fixed my issue.
I had an invalid cartridge error that did not resolve after several head cleanings. Ordered new print head and it fixed the issue.

try DIY cleaning first
It doesn't say on the Canon web page, but you can actually try to re-use your old printhead.
Soak it in isopropanol (or similar) for a couple of hours and remove ink with cotton swabs.
It worked for my PIXMA iP 3000 printhead. The black ink didn't print at all before and now it's fine again.
