Repair made easy

I was leary of the manual being accurate for the flashing light troubleshooting, but it was right on the money. It's the 2nd time I've replace the print head in the 5 year I've had the printer.

try DIY cleaning first

Soak it in isopropanol (or similar) for a couple of hours and remove ink with cotton swabs.
It worked for my PIXMA iP 3000 printhead. The black ink didn't print at all before and now it's fine again.
