The best value in a 19" LCD monitor

(5 out of 5) by Mark A. on Dec 23, 2008 (New York, USA)
I wanted to upgrade my old 15" Viewsonic monitor to something larger, and saw this Acer 19" monitor on the web. I was unfamiliar with Acer products, but the price was great, so I decided to give it a try. I'm so glad I bought this monitor!
Right out of the box, the first thing you notice is it's design. It has a nice, glossy black frame around the screen, and a silver base shaped like an inverted V. All of the controls are easily accessible at the bottom front of the screen. The power button glows blue when the monitor is on and orange when in standby mode.
Acer includes an eDisplay Management software program which will allow you to tweak the display settings to your liking, and to quickly change between any of 5 display modes: standard, text, graphics, movie or user defined.
I've been using this monitor for over 2 months now and the only downside I've found is that it is very bright using the factory default settings.
I love the fact that this is a widescreen monitor; DVD movies in widescreen format look great, and I can leave the Google or Yahoo widgets up at the right side of the screen and still have plenty of viewing space for my internet browser. I'm not a gamer, so I can't comment about using this monitor for computer games.
If you're looking for a quality 19" monitor at a great price, give this one a try!

Perfect Monitor

(5 out of 5) by Beth A. Doan on Jan 12, 2009 (Idaho USA)
I recently had an AOC 19 inch LCD monitor but at 3 years old it stopped working, so I did much research and found this monitor to have all the features I wanted. I was not accustomed to widescreen prior to my purchase, but I love this monitor, it was quick to set up, just plug in and go. I also do a lot of online gaming, and this monitor is awesome for that. I give it 5 stars, because it is a crisp, clear quality picture that is truely amazing, and Acer had great reviews on their products.

Works just fine!

(5 out of 5) by Susan K. Franz on Jan 31, 2009 (Hot Springs Village, AR)
We find this monitor works just fine for us. We do not have it hooked up for audio since we already have separate speakers. One point...don't assume that you can just quickly set it up by using the existing cords from your other monitor. We were lazy and did just that. We had all kinds of problems with the video quality of the picture. We were ready to send it back when we decided to try using the cords that came with it. Bingo! No more problems.

Consumer Reports Got It Right

(5 out of 5) by J Eastwood on Jun 12, 2009 (Maryland)
I was looking for a new monitor, and I subscribe to Consumer Reports. They recommended this model for this size screen. They were right on. This is a very good buy for the money. I am very pleased with my purchase.

Nice little monitor

(5 out of 5) by V. E. Bixenstine on Jul 9, 2009
Accustomed as I am to the "Square" screen of older monitors, I was at first put off by the "wide angle" view of this monitor. But it is very sharp, very clean, and I have grown to like it very much.
