I am very pleased with my HP laptop, as well as Amazon.com's service.
The laptop is very powerful and handles Vista with no issues. The computer boots quickly and connection to my network and the internet was simple... the performance is good.. the heating is not that much.
It is smaller and lighter than my previous laptop.. This laptop even has a switch in the front to turn off the wireless in case you're in an area that you do not want to chance someone accessing your computer or to just save on battery power. The battery time is OK.
The colors and outside design are Ok, but the plastic shiny material is a fingerprints magnet. I recommend this product!!

Great laptop for the price
This is a terrific laptop. It's fast, nice sized hard drive, and the screen looks amazing. The exterior finish is sleek. The laptop feels pretty light.
Start-up into the OS is blazing fast. Windows Vista-64 is great. My Desktop had Vista Ultimate 32 on it, so I was already a fan.
The only complaint I have is that the lower right side of the keyboard, from the enter key down through the arrows, feels hollow or loose underneath. I think it's because the DVD tray is below that area of the keyboard. I don't think that it's a defective keyboard, I think it's a design issue.
All in all I think this is a great laptop. This is my first AMP laptop system and I must say it is just as fast as my Core2Duo E6600 Desktop was.

HP Pavilion dv2000 Special Edition
I purchased the dv2000 from BestBuy for 699.99$. For the price it gives you the most bang for your buck. This notebook has 4gb of memory, massive 320gb hardrive space, and amd's dual core Turion X2 processor rated at 2.00Ghz. Nividia provides excellent graphics for a notebook of this price. The only downside is battery life and even that isn't too bad for the moderate user. This notebook is a definate must if your on a limited budget but you don't want to sacrifice performance. I've had absolutely no issues with this notebook and it compares favorably to my previous Toshiba. Excellent product, a must buy.

wasn't as i have expected
fair to say, the amount of speed, space and RAM looks good, but outlooks are deceiving. i was looking forward to wiping out the harddrive and install XP on it, but found out after i bought it that HP doesnt have drivers for this notebook. so i was disappointed.
because of vista, i also couldnt play games (like warcraft 3) on it smoothly like i play on a poorer notebook that i have. which is strange since the graphics are better in this notebook.
if you plan to do work only with this notebook, it would be perfect.
