Its Just OK
As expevted Vista keeps crashing.
Traded up from older hp 17". This one does run faster but with 4 meg of ram I would expect it to handle multi tasking better. Never could find the TV feature it was supposed to have.

awesome!
this laptop is sturdy! i can pick it up with one hand and it stays together! my nephew's $1400 fujitsu creeks and flexes when disturbed =p
well i've had the thing for about a month now. it works great, runs sooo fast, and plays all my video games no sweat(except the win98 games cause of the 64bit vista platform).
the battery lasts over an hour with high performance settings.
it came with all sorts of extras, incl a pci digital/analog tv tuner and a nice universal remote to control everything with.
the one con is the webcam tweaks when i use it with msn. i can't just show the cam or it's really dark; everything's locked in so i can't change any of the settings.
overall
it's a great deal for the price

Wast of money
This was not my first laptop but the first of HP laptops. From the very beginning I've experienced the problem with LAN network it just stopped responding at one moment. "Okay, maybe it just a single defect" - I thought and contacted with HP Total Care which tend to be the most effcient services. They have registered my order and promised to repair ASAP, the only problem I had is that they indicated that WIRELESS COMMUNICATION FAILED which was not true. I've contacted with HP Total Care again and assured me that this mistake shall be addressed. When the laptop was to repaired and was in transit, I desided to contact with HP Total Care again to find out wether they fixed the right part, they answered me that everything os OK and my WIRELESS COMMUNICATION card is fixed. I said hey! wait a minute! You suppossed to fix LAN NETWORK CARD!!! They said OK send us the laptop again and we fix it. And still they kept assuring me in their letters that my oppinion is very important and they are doing their best to fully satisfy their clients.
So fortunatelly they fixed what they suppose to fix. But there arose another problem: Vista which they reinstalled turned out to be 32-bits instead of original 64-bit version. I wrote them again and again I was assured that my opinion is very important and they doing their best to bring satisfaction to all the clients. Finally I've received the correct version of Vista. But again problem - the laptop is overheating! I'm not going to apply to them again I will just sell this laptop and someone else to enjoy the full satisfaction provided by HP. I would not recommend this laptop to anyone else.

This is a very good machine! I love the big screen -- the graphics are just awesome when playing games.

Excellent laptop... with a horrible deffect
As you would expect from a computer with this specifications it is really fast, but it has a horrible deffect: the quick launch volume control makes all the computer to get stuck. First I thought mine was defective but when I went to the store where I bought it I checked the one on exhibition and realized it has the exact same problem.
