This laser is the best. At night you can see the beam in mid-air and it is awesome. The laser is also very durable and good feeling. The led light that comes with it is a piece of crap. I do not know how it performs because mine came broken. The batteries that come with the laser are very nice. If you are just looking for something that will entertain you all where ever you go, this works great. Also, it is good for pointing at the sky, or bringing it to school to shine on people. Warning! Do not shine on your teachers forehead! If you are intending to shine this on your teachers forehead she will find you. It is too bright and they will notice it. A+

WOW! My kid wanted a green laser because he really liked daddy's. I bought mine for $120 several years ago for business purposes. I decided I would get him something much cheaper but still a green laser. I ordered this for 15 dollars and chose free shipping. It took a little while to get here but when it did it was fantastic. His laser is like 3 times better than my laser which is suposed to be 5m. You can really see the beam on this thing outside and in much better. I now feel cheated on my $120 laser lol. The kid has a better laser than me for $15. Buy it, youll be glad you did.

I have seen other reviewers with the same problem as me. I was embarrassed to give this as a present and then find out that it didn't work... We tested the batteries and reversed the polarity to no avail (No instructions included on which direction to load the batteries). I was about to send it back, but decided to try it with different batteries...and voila! It worked...at first, then it got shaky, especially after swapping out the included batteries and putting the good ones back in. Turned out I had to stretch the spring out so it would make a solid closed circuit. Now it works all the time and never fades in and out. But I never got the original batteries to work - they registered over 1.5 volts under load, so I assume it's the shape of the batteries rather than the available power.

So 2 stars for poor Quality Control, poor design, poor choice of included batteries and all the difficulties that caused. However, I'd give the LASER itself 5 stars for it's brilliance and the low price. It's true that you can see the beam reflecting of dust and/or mist outside.

1. This is a 5mW green lazer.
2. If you cant get it to work dont worry you are not alone. After spending 20 minutes on it i figured out that the internal spring was not extended enough to make contact with the battery. SO all i did was pull the spring and it started working but the sad part was that it is very very weak.
3. I would suggest spend some more and get a lazer with a higher power rating of 20mW or more. This is weak. It works but you wont like it.
4. The size is big, i mean it is close to 6 1/2 inches long and a standard pen is like 5 1/2 so it is difficult to carry in the shirt pocket.
