don't buy this POS!

after a few min of work a message appears that this is a not full version of software with a limited range and only 5 MB of transfer...what?! where is the warning or info about the limitations of software?...so after a few min of work connection drops repeatedly and you have to restart it again, while this stupid message appears over and over...i bet this will wear out any patience very soon and thing goes to trash...no wonder it's so cheap cause its rather a joke...good luck to all others who made it work!...

doesn't come with software

If you are running XP or older, this device is useless since it doesn't come with the software, despite the seller's claims (Wildcom or Bluesoleil). Otherwise, it is satisfactory--range is about on par with a name-brand nub dongle.

No joke -- it works!

(5 out of 5) by Kyle Chan on Sep 9, 2008 (Chicago, IL)
This thing is cheap and I was skeptical when I first bought it. But after a straightforward installation and simple pairing process, it worked just fine. I paired it easily with my bluetooth headset (Motorola S9) and my cell phone (Sony Ericsson w580i) and the quality is great. I can listen to music wirelessly from up to 15 feet. If you do have issues, though, there's no phone number to call for support. Conclusion: If you're looking for a basic bluetooth adapter, there's no reason to pay more.

don't buy if you'll use the 2.0

(1 out of 5) by P. Smith on Aug 21, 2009 (Charlotte NC)
I purchased this item to use with a bluetooth headset but does't work with it unless you pay a pricey fee for software that works. The company is oviously misleading in their advert for this item. Nothing but a scam. Can buy another brand that works great, very compact and only 15 dollars.

Great product - Works well.

I bought this adapter to tether my blackberry and use it as a modem. I've never used bluetooth or completed any type of tethering before, so I wasn't willing to invest much money. I bought this and have set up my work and home computers and the connection is fast! It works so well, that I just bought a second one so each of my computers can have their own bluetooth device.

I tried out the software/drivers that came with the dongle, but ended up taking this software off and using the bluetooth drivers with XP instead. I found that the windows software was more reliable, and I easily set up the connection to the modem without problems with the windows drivers/software. With the software out of the box, I had some trouble getting my blackberry to connect as a modem. (The connection from my computer to the blackberry seemed to work, but I couldn't get it to connect as a modem.)

All in all, I highly recommend this product. It is a very inexpensive way to add bluetooth to your computer.
