Very good albeit expensive

(4 out of 5) by BillH on Nov 26, 2009 (DeForest, WI USA)
The AT&T TL7600 DECT 6.0 cordless headset connects perfectly and has very good sound quality. Mic works fine and is clear to the person on the other end of the call. No interference throughout our 2-story house.
The over-the-ear hook didn't work well for us, but the behind-the-head band functions fine. So does the over-the-head band, although we don't use it. All three are included and easily interchangeable. The two headbands make replacing the headset on its charging stand a little clumsy, but don't interfere with charging.
Our only quibble -- and mostly why we give the unit 4 stars -- is that it's pricey. We'd still recommend it as a companion to compatible AT&T phones.

Fantastic sound quality

(5 out of 5) by GS from CT on Nov 20, 2009
I was so worried about sound quality of headsets. This product has exceeded by far my expectations. Everyone that I've talked to has commented how clear my voice is. I also like the different options on how to wear the headset. I prefer the option with the "over-the-head" clip which is extremely comfortable at the ear and I got used to the feeling of this clip on my head quickly. I also tried the "in-the-ear" option which seemed fine; not sure how that would that feel over an extended period. All in all, this is a fantastic product.

Equal to the quality of much higher priced sets

This headset is truly wireless unlike similarly priced models. Also, it's quality matches models that cost more than double the price. You'll be hard-pressed to find anything cheaper or comparable in price that's better.

Barely usable

(2 out of 5) by Christopher P. Cabuzzi on Sep 26, 2009
I got this phone to go with my AT&T DECT 6.0 Bluetooth 3-phone cordless answering system. This was not a purchase I originally intended to make, as I got the TL92378 system because it advertised Bluetooth. Without really researching the actual Bluetooth functionality of the TL92378, I quickly realized I could only use the TL7600, the subject of my review, as a hands-free device.

On to the review...

To sum it up, this thing is barely usable. It comes with a variety of solutions for wear on your head. Unfortunately, they all are terrible. The traditional "headphone" style band barely fits over my head (and I don't have a big head), the behind-the-neck band doesn't really do anything to keep the device on you, and the over-the-ear loop is ok... but the actual piece that goes in your ear sits about 4 feet from your actual ear.

Fortunately, it's loud. You can hear the other party very, VERY clearly... even at the lowest setting. Unfortunately, they can't hear you. I practically have to yell into the microphone boom, which is positioned at a reasonable location in relation to your mouth. Unlike the volume buttons, which control the speaker volume, there is no adjustment for microphone sensitivity. That leaves you with no way to enable the other party to hear your call, besides yelling into the device.

I'm hoping that I possibly have a defective device, as none of the other reviews mention this problem. I'm willing to give it another shot, but am not getting my hopes up.

Great accessory, OK implementation

(4 out of 5) by john weidner on Sep 23, 2009 (Saint James, NY)
I bought this as a bundle with 4 DECT handsets. The range on the headset is great, and a cordless headset is very convenient. The over-the-head band is rather weak though, I cracked mine a few weeks into owning it by twisting the headset the wrong way. I was glued it back together OK, but subtracts a star. Also, the mute button is kind of hard to locate when it's on your head, and the audible notice that it's on mute is hard to hear. I take a lot of conference calls, so this is an important feature to me. I have an Avaya at work that is great, but it's triple the price too.
