Travel Assistant
This is a wonderful example of excellent price/value relationship. This provides all the features I've seen in packs twice the cost. Am using this as my carry-on for travel tours. It provides easy access to my laptop, camera, cell phone, tickets/passport, reading & writing material,
and the list goes on. There are all sorts of pockets to keep items organized and easily available. With all that, it still is not overly bulky and leaves my hands and arms free to handle other luggage and do other things. I would recommend this travel assistant to anyone travel on a commercial carrier.

SwissGear Laptop Backpack Review
Apple MacBook Pro MB133LL/A 15.4-inch Laptop (2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor, 2 GB RAM, 200 GB Hard Drive, DVD/CD SuperDrive)
I have read other reviews of SwissGear backpacks and nearly everyone loved the quality of construction and the details which they contain. I would whole heartily agree with this backpack. The main section containing your laptop has more than enough space for it and some files, but the one area that is of concern is the less than stellar bottom of the backpack. While it is adequate, it is too flimsy for my tastes and I would have like to have seen some more padding where my laptop is positioned since most of us will more than likely put the bag down always on the bottom. The two side pockets for water bottles or metal coffee mugs (of which I have a 20 ox Starbucks model) are great!! The carrying handle is more than sturdy enough to hold onto the backpack if needed. The second large compartment has both a headphone and media pocket as well as dividers for file folders. Near the top of this compartment is the iPod earbud wire port with a media and headphone pocket also near the top. Zippers are nice sized and easy to use. The smaller front pocket has five pockets for pens, including larger sized pens or maybe flash drives. Inside the smaller front pocket there is a large zippered pocket and the zipper comes in contact with the tops of the pens and can be a little troublesome if you have many pens and to get inside it this pocket. The front "cell phone" pocket on the shoulder strap is too small except for very small cell phones. The sunglass holder on the other strap is a god send for traveling. Two large side pockets behind the water bottle/coffee mug pockets can have the space taken up if you use a coffee mug in them. One of them has an additional pull out pocket, but did not know what this one was for.
Personally, my 15" MacBook Pro fits comfortably in this backpack and would highly recommend it to anyone!!!

Great One
Excellect backpack for my laptop and carrying other stuff. Mp3 pocket, cell phone pocket, a huge pocket to keep my writing material, etc. Hidden pockets inside is big enough to carry my checkbook. I also like the outside meash pocket to keep my bottle of water!
All in all a very durable backpack. I just wish ti came with wheels and a handle to carry at the airport.

Zipper snags, pulls threads out
Two of the zippers (the left one for the main front compartment and the right one for the laptop compartment) snagged on the spongy zipper seaming underneath, making it difficult to open/close the compartments and pulling threads out of the seaming (which only made the problem worse as the zippers would then get caught on the pulled threads). Based on the design (i.e., a meshy/spongy, flap of cloth all along the zippers), it seems like this would be a common occurrence, though I didn't read anything like this on the other reviews. After examining a friend's backpack (Victorinox), I observed that the seaming on that pack did not have a flap of spongy/meshy cloth around the zipper...nothing to snag on there. I returned the backpack immediately and will just go to the store next time around. If it weren't for that fatal flaw (a big one, as the pack is unusable), the pack might be nice otherwise.

A good backpack for student or traveler.
This backpack is very nicely designed. It has plenty of room; lots of pockets and storage areas. My 15" laptop fits nicely in the laptop pocket. It is also pretty comfortable.
The only negative is that it's really too big for my needs. I carry my laptop everywhere, but rarely with anything else. I have a lot of wasted space and it's a little bulky. But, like my title says, I think it would be great for a student with books or for a traveler who could use it as a small carry-on.
