Great for price, But

(3 out of 5) by Robert A. Kurdock on Jan 11, 2009
Great for price, do not buy if you want top quality. Sound is very poor and remote control doesn't always work properly. Good for spare TV and the price can not be beat.

Nice TV for the bedroom

(4 out of 5) by Sal Bunny on Jan 7, 2009 (Redmond, WA)
This TV is perfect for my bedroom. It doesn't take up much space at all, and it still provides a nice picture for movies and video games, whether I'm watching them from my bed or in a chair up closer to it.

The lack of composite hookups is a little annoying though as I can't hook up my older consoles to it, and had to go buy component cables for my Wii and an HD cable for my 360.

All in all, a good buy.

Great Picture, Poor Audio

(4 out of 5) by Ray D. Congdon on Dec 3, 2008 (Cedar City, UT)
This TV has really a great HD picture, outstanding contrast ratio for the price great for my small room. The only problem is that the internal speakers sound like a $1 store radio... Plan on buying some external speakers with a subwoofer to really enjoy it.

Fantastic computer monitor and HDTV!

(5 out of 5) by tall-latte on Sep 5, 2009 (Sammamish, WA USA)
I originally purchased this monitor as an external monitor for a MacBook Pro, but I am now also using it daily as an HDTV. As a computer monitor, it is not quite as crisp and sharp as the MacBook's LCD, but that is not surprising, due to the extremely high quality of Apple LCDs. Likely the only way to match the quality of the MacBook LCD is to purchase an Apple Cinema Display ($$$).

As a computer monitor, I have been very happy (using DVI connection).

As a bonus, this monitor included a built-in HDTV tuner, so I plugged in some old rabbit ears and started watching OTA HDTV. Wow!

The speakers are a bit weak, so I sometimes plug in my external computer speakers to the TV's headphones jack.

Because I was enjoying the HDTV so much, I finally connected a DirecTV HD DVR (HR22) to this TV, and now it can get all of my channels, not just OTA. The DVR connects via HDMI, and the quality is excellent.

This TV's remote is also nice and simple and easy to use.

The onscreen menus are crisp and easy to understand.

I really only have 2 complaints about this monitor: (1) speakers are weak (but to be expected in a monitor this small), and (2) it attracts dust like crazy!

I highly recommend this monitor either as a computer monitor or an HDTV - or both!

Update: it's been about 3 months since my original review, so this is just a follow-up post confirming that I am still highly impressed with this monitor, and friends and family have even commented how crisp it is (for HDTV viewing). Also, if you have a problem with the weak speakers, you can just plug in your computer speakers to the monitor. When I am using it to watch TV, I just disconnect my speakers from my MacBook Pro and plug them into the monitor. Late at night, then the TV speakers are fine.
