defective items can be exchanged or repaired only
I recently purchased a Samsung HDTV and after a slight problem which was easily resolved by Samsung support, decided to go for this puppy. I tried other options to turn my existing SONY monitor into a tv (pinnacle pctv without any success) but thought this option would be great. With a flip of a button, I would be able to switch between PC and high definition TV. Now I'm living....
I couldn't wait to open the box and set everything up. It took minutes and when I pressed the button for the TV - viola! Cable tv which despite the instructions warning that the picture quality would not be as good as a regular tv model, looked pretty darn good as long as you are not too close to the set. I pressed the button to the pc mode and my happy bubble burst. The set recognized the switch to pc and then went blank. ARGGH.
I called Samsung support who cheerfully informed me not to worry, the set was under warranty for three years after purchase. Okay, feeling happy again. They took info and told me that they would exchange my set at no cost and would I please hold a few minutes while they took care of it.....8 minutes later, still holding......5 minutes later ringing and got a different rep who wanted to start all over again. Third time around I feel grumpy, very grumpy.
Bottom line, supervisor (Jose) tells me that Samsung policy for its monitors are for exchanges or repair only. NO REFUNDS ARE GIVEN. Good thing to know AFTER you purchase it huh? Ummmm. Okay. Exchange please. What? You have nothing in stock so I have to get it repaired and wait how long?!? What was that? You mean you might be able to offer a comparible set, maybe. Perhaps you can get me a set your "exchange coordinator" thinks is comparible to my T200HD after taking a few days to process (HOW can I get this job!) the request. They'll call me. Yeah, I'll sit here waiting for THAT call. Samsung ended up sending me a refurbished one. So I ended up paying for a new one but got a refurbished? No thanks. I sent that one back at my own cost (ouch).
Ordered another one from Amazon, hoping that all the spectacular reviews were right. Returned the original one back to Amazon since they have that no hassle 30-day return policy. NOTE: AMAZON CHARGES A 15-20% RESTOCKING FEE.
My second order from Amazon has been smooth - set is working fine for a couple of weeks now. Not to happy about the total amount spent and will go to an actual store for all future big electronic items since I ended up spending more then saving.

Better to use it as a monitor
OK to use it as a monitor or to catch cable TV programs. Sound and picture qualities are OK. But it is terrible to use it to catch of the air TV program. There is no instruction and cannot add channel after you scan the channel. Even you punch in the channel, it returns back to previous channel quickly without giving you time to adjust the antenna to catch the signal.

Bad Sound-No alternative
My sister bought this piece of crap 2 weeks ago (early March 2009) and as others have said, the speakers are crap. The thing that I find amazing is there is so little you can do about it. There is only 1 output for audio and that's an optical cord outlet. Try finding speakers with an optical input that don't cost way more than this TV, if you can. I found a cheap Coby entertainment system (DVD player and 5.1 speakers-$60) figuring she could hear sound through its speakers, but guess what, that's only if you're watching a DVD (of course). DVD players are pretty much 1-way, everything-wise nowadays with only "outputs" for video and audio (LAME). So, as long as you don't want to watch "TV" with this, you're okay. What a waste of electronics, really.

wrong specs in amazon! beware!
I bought this product specifically to use as a PC monitor and thought I was getting a good deal. $300 for a 1920x1200 resolution.
Well, it turns out the specs listed in amazon are completely wrong!
It's no even consistent if you read the whole thing.
This monitor is only 1680x1050.
So beware! I'm sure the monitor is still a good product but amazon sucked on that one! I called their support and sure, they were willing to let me refund it but I don't really have the time to wait for a new monitor to arrive.

unexpected
Found the set is not made to be wall mounted. No mounting holes for bracket. Audio quality not good.
