Working better than the Sangean Wifi Radio

(5 out of 5) by the.bagpiper on Dec 29, 2008 (Washington, DC)
After purchasing a Sangean WFR-1 radio for a friend of mine, I can definitely say that this little wonder has provided excellent audio quality and interaction when connecting to my Wifi router was quicker than the one for the Sangean; sound quality is perhaps a bit better since the Aluratek sound is a bit crispier. Price also is great. I read some reviews complaining about the light being too bright. The model I have here has an option that shuts the light off while the system is still working. Remote control is very user friendly. We are now thinking about asking Santa for a 2nd unit in 2009. Cheers!

Aluratek AIRMM01 Internet Radio Not what was expected ...

(1 out of 5) by jimbomahn on Jul 14, 2009 (Reno, NV)
I bought this item based on a review written in the December issue of MacWorld magazine.

The immediate problem was with the instructions (which were no doubt written by French engineers) Not a good sign. After several attempts to configure the initial set up, the clock times would vary day-to-day, from 1913 to 2l07,!?!

The sound quality was marginal, at best. On the plus side, the FM reception was better than expected.

Maybe I got a defective one. That said, this product did not live up to my expectations; plus, the set-up was a PITA.

This thing is awesome!

(5 out of 5) by Sarah A. Garrison on Dec 29, 2008 (Seattle, WA)
It takes under 5 minutes to set up... no joke. Lots of great stations. The remote is a little wonky and takes a bit (few minutes?) to get used to. It even knows what time it is right off the bat and everything... literally NO set up!!

Aluratek Internet Radio Alarm Clock with WIFI

(4 out of 5) by Cecil Clark on Dec 2, 2008 (San Antonio, TX)
I love being able to tune in and listen to music or other entertainment from all of the different countries. It's does not do very well with FM stations in that after some period of time, it stops playing the FM station. It is slow to respond to the remote. It wasn't that difficult to setup and would be much easier if it had an interface to allow me to use my laptop to configure it. The price wasn't bad and all in all a pretty good radio.

Very stisdfied

A little hard to get used to the controls and screens but once learned, it is easy to program. Had no trouble getting on the wifi once I found the wifi code. That could be a problem if you didn't save it. Great receiver for "news hounds."
