Cramped keyboard but awesome portability

(4 out of 5) by Rex F. Baldazo on Jun 18, 2008 (Nashville, TN)
I really love how portable this thing is. Even when I throw it into my laptop bag where I'm carrying my work laptop, I hardly notice the added weight or bulk from the Eee PC. And the WiFi has worked like a charm -- I'm able to connect from the public library and at free hotspots such as Panera Bread without any problems.

On the downside, that keyboard is a bit cramped. You can adjust and get reasonable touch-typing speed but nothing approaching what you can do with a regular keyboard. Still, for jotting down notes and replying to emails it's been fine.

I'm also not a fan of the mouse buttons beneath the touchpad. They are pretty stiff -- you have to strike them with a fair amount of force before they'll register the click. I've taken to carrying a tiny mouse, which just plugs into one of the USB ports. Even though it does drain the battery a bit faster using that mouse, it's a lot less frustrating to click than the touchpad buttons on the Eee PC.

Asus Eee PC

(5 out of 5) by W. Sheldon on Aug 17, 2008
The mini-lap top by Asus (Eee PC) is the perfect answer for someone who travels. It allows me to keep up on my emails, I can watch movies(I have eight movies downloaded on an 8gb sdhd card), I can review my daily photography results and I can surf the web. It is light weight as advertised (2 lbs.) and yet large enough that it is no problem to use.
I was contemplating buying a 12 inch laptop, at approx. $1500 but this 9 inch laptop meets all my needs for $550. One of the best purchases that I have ever made. I am an older retired person in my late 60's and would not generally be thought of as a computer geek, but I get identified as one with my new gadget, quite an experience.

Eee PC 900

(5 out of 5) by M. Lund on Aug 6, 2008
This baby laptop was just what we expected. I bought it for my daughter for our 6 week european trip. It was perfect. Light in her backpack, quick to pull out and use. We both used it every day to check emails, upload pictures and write on our blog. The picture upload was very valuable because even though there is internet access available in nearly all hotels and a cafe in each town, they do not want you to insert any cards or disks into their computers. Baby's keyboard is a little tight but easy to get used to if you have small hands. Every women that saw it raved about it. The men were a little unsure of the keyboard size. Everyone loves the light weight.
Storage capacity is limited but we carried multiple SD cards and had no problem.

Very Nice LITTLE Computer

(4 out of 5) by Apartment Manager on Jul 28, 2008 (Maryland)
We opted to spend the extra bucks and get the souped up version with more memory and XP. It certainly has made it more useful we've used it more than I expected because it's so portable.

Great little laptop

(5 out of 5) by Jiim P. on Jul 22, 2008 (Spokane, WA)
We bought this for my daughter to use at college in conjunction with a desktop. This gives her a small device to take to class, etc. but she will have her desktop for the heavy work. We're very pleased with the quality of the machine. It seems to do everything she needs, although if you have big hands I think it would be a lot less user friendly. I would definitely buy it again.
