As advertised
These speakers work well and look good.
Pros- Sound is excelent, I'm not the pickiest but they seem to produce great highs and decent lows for the woofer size, real clear sound.
Reception is great too. I have these working in a house with two baby monitors, wi-fi, cordless phone and a wireless video monitor and they don't pick up any interferance from anything.
Cons- You have to plug them in or put 8 C batteries in each speaker. Pluging them in is a pain depending on where you want to use them. I haven't had them long enough to tell how long the batteries will last but it pricery to puy sixteen C batteries.

Not outdoor speakers
While the product description on Amazon says these are outdoor speakers, the actual packaging does not. There is one small image on the box with a caption saying they are for outdoor use, but it has an asterisk. The fine print on the bottom of the package says "weather permitting, speakers are not water resistant." I bought these as outdoor speakers based on the description on Amazon.
On top of that, there is no way to turn the speakers off, so they will constantly drain the C batteries, and taking the batteries out to prevent draining requires removing four screws.
The connection for the transmitter is either RCA plugs or a headphone jack. My receiver doesn't allow for RCA plug outputs (and most only have one set) requiring the headphone jack to be used. Unfortunatley my (and most) stereo(s) turn off the main speakers when a plug is inserted in the headphone jack. So I have to choose between listening to the outdoor speakers and the indoor, rather than use both at the same time. This is no good for parties, since I want music both indoors and out.
Overall, these speakers do not serve their purpose whatsoever.

Great product for the price
I don't often review a product but with this item I feel I must. Simply, it is a great product for the price. I was so impressed that I ordered two additional speakers. I use them out on my deck plus in other rooms in my house and they work and sound great. I do need to note that they need to be placed so that the signal from the transmitter is not blocked. If you pay attention to this detail and stay within the recommended transmit distance they will deliver a very acceptable sound. I use mine in monaural mode but they also sound great in stereo mode. Acoustic Research did a great job designing this product.
