IMHO. The charger I got with a Nikon S600 is kind of cheesy and didn't always charge for some reason. This is compact, with folding AC prongs and it includes a 12V auto adapter which is a bonus. I figured, 'how can you go wrong for the price?' but this charger is great so far.

I suspect that persons who have not had success with the charger is because they have been charging it wrong. It happened to me...I left the battery for my Nikon Coolpix S210 (EN-EL10) to charge overnight, and then this morning, got up to see the results- was I disappointed to find that the battery was still dead. In despair, I went back to the reviews on Amazon.com and one reviewer said that the metal parts should not be aligned- that fooled me. Instead you should flip the battery around and let negative and positive connect, and trust me I left it charging for 3 minutes, and it worked! Trust me, for now the product is great- if over time it begins to fail me, I WILL write another review. In the meantime, it's worth the buy- for only 8 bucks including shipping, you have little to lose.

My charger did NOT charge my Nikon battery. I paid 7 or 8 (can't remember) extra $$ for expedited shipping so that I could use my charger on my road trip. The charger did not make it in time. When I got back, I opened the product only to find that it DID NOT CHARGE MY NIKON EN-EL10 BATTERY! I emailed customer service. Doris was really polite and suggested sending a pre-paid envelope for me to return the product for a refund (since I'd already spent more on shipping than the charger itself). She even followed up with me more than a week later to see if I had received the envelope, and then verified my address (which was correct). However, the return envelope NEVER CAME.

So I still have the charger that doesn't charge the battery, and it would only increase my loss to return the charger back for a refund. The nice lady who responded to my email is a plus, but the fact of the matter is that the charger doesn't work, and I never got my refund. So, I have to say that I would NOT recommend this seller or this product.

P.S. I bought a Nikon factory charger from Electro Bargains. Works perfectly, flawless transaction.

Upon first receiving this charger, I lined up the metal pieces and followed their instructions to put the Nikon logo against the charger. A day later, when I went to use it, the battery was still dead.
Turning the battery over and allowing the Nikon logo to face outwards and the metal pieces to not line up completely (as you think they should) allowed it to charge. My completely dead battery worked after just 30 seconds of charging (albeit not very long). If you have problems with this charger, try turning your battery over, and it should work fine!

The charger does what it's supposed to: charges. I got it for my EN-EL10, and it charges from drained to full in roughly an hour. The packaging comes with instructions on how to insert the battery. Simply match negative to negative and positive to positive. The Nikon logo should be face up.

One warning: unlike what the Amazon description says, this does not appear to be UL listed (however, it does have the CE logo). That may be a problem for college dorms that require everything to be UL listed. Other non-Amazon sellers do not advertise this as being UL listed either.
