A great sleeve/case
(5 out of 5) by J. Mel on Dec 12, 2008There seems to be come confusion on the pictures with this thing. One of Amazon's stores has the wrong picture and it is the default picture.
Anyway, I bought this sleeve because a friend of mine has the same one. It is a very well protected sleeve with ample padding on all 6 sites, even the top where the zipper is. On the outside of the padding is has paperboard or thin cardboard to further help against higher pressure impacts like dropping something on it or bumping into a corner. It does not come with a shoulder strap, but I cannibalized an old laptop bag that I no longer use for one. I rarely use it though, as the bag itself is very light and my MacBook is also quite light.
The fit is very snug, and you probably want to hold the top open a bit while sliding your MacBook in and out, as it does leave a trail on the aluminum surface (using the late 2008 model). Nothing a light cleaner won't get rid of, but just be aware.
The zipper compartment holds my power adapter fine, and has room for an iPod, cell phone, or other small device.
I usually carry sleeve by itself but sometimes put it into my Targus backpack. This sleeve is great for securing a MacBook in a backpack.
Overall I am very pleased with this product. It is versatile in that it is well cushioned and light enough to carry by hand, yet small enough to put into a backpack.

Nice Piece!
(5 out of 5) by M. ALMUSALLAM on Aug 17, 2008This is not really a sleeve, but it is somewhat like a laptop case. If you are looking for durable case/sleeve then should be the one to buy. I am using it with my Macbook and it fits it perfectly. Plus you can store the Macbook charger and other accessories (headphones, wallet, etc.) in the side pocket. I recommend it for all.
