Three singal bands, this one does two

(4 out of 5) by Bryce Nesbitt on Nov 3, 2009
To understand this antenna, you have to understand the post-transition digital frequencies:

* Low VHF (Channels 2-6)
* High VHF (Channels 7-13)
* Core UHF (Channels 14-51)
* Obsolete UHF (Channels 52-69)

The early DTV stations all used UHF. After analog stations were turned off, some digital stations started moving down into High VHF. A small number of stations (just a few percent nationally) will be permanently stuck down in Low VHF. The problem is that VHF, especially low VHF, is very far in frequency from UHF. Basically you need two antennas to "do it right".

This antenna deliberately discards performance in Low VHF and Obsolete UHF, to improve core UHF performance. You need to decide if this is a problem or a benefit based on the TV stations in your area.

For many people an amplified antenna is either a waste or harmful. This antenna does not have an amplifier.

Light and powerful antenna

(5 out of 5) by A. K. Sutton on Oct 8, 2008 (Central Pennsylvania)
Purchased this antenna from Amazon-arrived standard shipping in 3 days. Removed the old 7-foot combined VHF-UHF antenna from the rooftop where it has resided for 20+years, and in 3 minutes had installed this light 10X20 inch antenna. My digital signals come from 14-25 miles away on direct line-of-sight, and stations are located 100 degrees apart. Pointing towards the weakest signals and taking advantage of the high gain lobe located at 120 degrees from the main direction, I am receiving perfect signals on all major networks and PBS.
I highly recommend this product!

The ClearStream2 Totally Rocks!

(5 out of 5) by Bradley Tompkins on Sep 1, 2008 (Festus, MO USA)
I live 37 miles south of St. Louis. I had two "old school" VHF/UHF antennas from Radio Shack. They were huge and still didn't give me all the HDTV channels. I bought the Clearstream2 and extended my mast up 15 feet. I can now get every St. Louis digital station! Plus it looks great and is less noticable! I first heard about this Antenna from the HT Guys Podcast.

Great antenna for the price

(5 out of 5) by C.G on Jun 29, 2009 (Harrison Township, MI USA)
I live in the Metro Detroit area in Michigan (Harrison Twp. to be exact) and this antenna works great. Picks up all the major Detroit OTA towers, I think I get about 15 stations all together that are in digital all with a crystal clear picture. I do have a two story house and have mounted on top so I'm sure that helps, but other that it was an easy install. I used to have a Satellite dish so I was able to utilize the same exact J mounting hardware....Very convienient!

Clearstream 2 antenna

(4 out of 5) by chucketuna on Jun 1, 2009 (Bellevue, wa)
We are in a tough location. Hills and trees surround us so placement is important. We tried having it in the living room without a geat deal of success. Then we were going to strap it to the chimney, but there was a tree blocking the needed path. My wife came up with the idea of putting the mast on top of our tetherball pole which is cemented inside of an old tire. We were able to place it with a clear view of the direction needed, and it picked up everything we want. Now we have to see how it does in bad weather. That will tell us if we need to tinker with the placement further.
