Awesome! Great boombox for the price...

(5 out of 5) by Phil Baumert on Mar 6, 2009 (Louisville, KY)
This arrived on my porch three days ago and I can't be happier. I loaded an 8GB flash drive with about 2.5GB of MP3's and it's been playing on "random" mode ever since. No problems so far and it is a nice unit. I did play one MP3 cd I had just to test it and it played it fine. But who buys this unit for that feature? no one! It's all about the USB playback! Get yourself one of these and a car stereo with a USB jack and become "CD Free" like me. No more scratched CD's and fumbling around for them. Great boombox. Thanks!

Nice Concepts, But it skips!

I got this for a birthday present for my daughter. She had trouble from the start with it skipping. She tried if for a little longer and found that at first it played fine, but after a few minutes would begin to skip. She tried different CD's and same problem. I got it because the features are the right combination, CD player with MP3 capability and with a USB port too. Too bad it did not work.

An MP3 CD idea

(3 out of 5) by Eric Oconnor on Sep 30, 2009 (Sunnyvale, California.)

I've been looking around for a boom box that plays MP3 CDs and was tempted to get this.

Frankly I didn't see any units that I really wanted.

Out of desperation I popped an MP3 CD in the portable DVD player I'd bought my kid and presto it worked like a champ.

I tried burning an MP3 DVD thinking that there was no way it would work, and yet that worked as well. So if that's what you're looking for, you might take that route.

/ I gave the product a neutral three stars since I don't own it.
/ Apologies if that skews things either way.
