Great Value Package

In particular, the tripod and extra battery were invaluable. The camera itself is intuitive and takes great clear video. A particularly great feature is the ability to set the camera to take photos while filming whenever it detects a smile.
The only slight downside is that unless you have a very particularly powerful home computer, tasks like conversion from the Sony HD format to a DVD format or an MPEG are extremely time consuming. Even reasonably fast machines take a long time. Best to let it run overnight.
Generally does not get on well with Macs unless you have iMovie '08. No problems with PCs.

battery is not the same as on the picture. you have to connect the battery with the camera via short cable.

Good Video Camera and Good Bundle
(5 out of 5) by Scott the Noob on Oct 24, 2008First the Camera...It is a great camera with a ton of options. I have had mine a month and am still trying to figure out everything. Recording with the video camera is as expected. The picture displayed when I play it on a TV or Computer is awesome with two exceptions. I have had some grainy footage when taping in low light, but I think there are some settings I can play with to fix that. The other issue is with still pictures being of lesser quality, but that seems to expected for most video cameras.
Now the bundle...I am not a real video-phile, so this bundle came with a bunch of things I might not use very often. However, I plan to play around with everything to learn more. The bundle is worth the extra cost for the things I know I will use: tripod, battery, charger, memory stick, and case.
