The photos don't do justice to how beautiful this cover really is. I bought this for my husband and green for myself. It's so nice to have a sturdy cover that protects and makes it easy to use the back buttons. The original cover was horrible because our Kindles kept falling out of them. This is perfect and makes reading even more enjoyable.

This cover is georgeous. (I have it in red) Unlike the cover that comes with the kindle it's self closing, the elastic strap on the original cover was stretched out of shape the first week I had it, rendering it useless. This cover is soft suede inside and has pockets for notes, bus. cards and a loop for a book light (see which one in product description). It gives easy access to charging and headphone jacks without having to remove the kindle from the cover, unlike the original cover, my kindle stays securely in the cover even when cover is unlatched. It's a good buy.

Beautiful case. A little big if you don't get the eluminator light, too, but if you do, it's great.
Very good quality and nice looking. Allows me to read my Kindle while I wait in court for cases to be called. Easily mistaken for a quality datebook.

This cover arrived about a week ago and I'm very happy with it. I bought it specifically because you can put the book light (sold separately) in it. The book light is in back order, so I don't have that yet, but the cover by itself is impressive enough for me to write this review.
It holds the kindle a lot better that the standard cover that comes with the unit. The outside corner holders work easily and do not interfere with the buttons at all, which was a concern of mine. It also has some handy little pockets on the other side of the jacket that are good for holding various papers and such (I use mine for my Starbucks card since that is where tend to use my Kindle the most).
All in all this is a nice cover, however... The price is a tad high for my taste, and I'm not sure I would have bought it if I didn't have the gift card to use (hence the 4 stars instead of five). The book light is what sold me... I like the idea of being able to store the book light inside the cover instead of trying to remember to bring along a separate unit. The light is due to arrive in February, and I may add on to this review then, but for now I'd say that this is a very nice Kindle cover.

This jacket has advantages over the orignal cover supplied with the Kindle, but has drawbacks also. It is better in that it holds the Kindle more securely with retainers at all four corners. Unfortunately, even though the one at the top left is supposedly elastasized, it is still very difficult to get to the switches on the back of the Kindle. So, unless Amazon moves the switches to the front, there needs to be a better solution. I would recommend an access hole in the back, like some other covers offer. Secondly, this cover folds oddly. To me, the best way to hold the Kindle requires the cover to be folded back on itself behind the Kindle. When this cover folds, it is not even and is awkward to hold. Plus, the tab, which keeps the cover closed when stored, doesn't fold back out of the way well. All in all, I got what I wanted which was a more secure carrier, but this could be better designed.
