The DeLonghi D895UX works great - while it works! I used it about 15 times, frying frenchfries, chicken, etc. Then, the unit stopped heating oil! I phoned customer service and they told me I had to send it to Texas for repairs, or get a new one. Okay. I'm getting a new one - but I will look for a more dependable brand! This one is a no-go for sure! Keep Looking!

It got clogged immediatley. May be ok for non battered items but so far, I'm dissapointed

This thing is junk

(1 out of 5) by Danny Falin on Dec 8, 2008 (Atlanta GA)
I used to own this fryer and it lasted a long time before it stopped heating. Well in Feb i bought another, from amazon. worked great for 2 months, then died. same problem. So I bought another from here, lasted 1 month, failed, same issue. Contacted the manufacturer about it and they covered under warranty. Well, you have to ship it to another state, and those companies are electric companies, not the manufacturer. Well here we are on 2 months and still not a one returned to me. my advice, dont buy this because if you have problems, you wont get it back this year. And the repair shop southern electric in orlando has poor customer service.

Its a cool concept but its just okay

I got this to replace a huge fryer I have that takes at least 4 Liters of oil as a minimum to frying and its for just me and my husband. I used this new one once and am returning it for something else. The rotating basket is a cool concept and it does save alot of oil but I dont think it fries as well because the food is not immersed the whole time. Another thing I was disappointed with is that the temperature does not go beyond 370 and I felt like it just didnt get hot enough. This rotating basket also doesnt allow to fill the basket. Its tilted so only the food placed in the outter edges touches the oil. The window on the lid is poinless because as soon as you put the food in and close the lid, it condenses and doesnt allow you to see anything but steam and water. On the upside....the cleaning and oil drainage system was awesome! Thats one thing I would rate as 5 stars. Overall- I wouldnt recommend.

The best electric fryer

I had the old version of this for many years and loved it until it finally died. This is the new and improved version. Lighter, Teflon interior, much quieter, solidly locking fryer basket. Digital timer. It was great before, now it is perfect.
Really easy to drain and strain the oil too. Magnetic cord disconnects before fryer can be pulled off counter. You can't get a better one.
