Backing up the iMac is easy
Excellent back up for new iMac. Easy to set up and worked right out of the box. Handy cables included. Have used this product for 4 months with the new 'Time Machine' and it has worked wonderfully. Firewire 800 makes for quick transfer of data. Only drawback it the .2 TB of spaced used on formatting and not available for data storage.

They need to specify OS
I bought this because I have the 2 TB mirror edition hard drive by Western Digital. It works fine on my Vista 64 bit. I looked on here and it says that this one works on Vista, but didn't specify, so I bought it anyway. It doesn't work with my OS so had to return it and have to buy the Mirror Edition one again. They really do need to specify in the detailed info which bit it will work with. Other than that, I know these hard drives work great.

Works as advertised
I was searching many sites for a hard drive that was
A. Quiet
B. Low Priced
C. Had ESATA
D. Had huge capacity
After many hours of searching I finally decided on this one because it was the only one I could find with no compromises. It had everything I wanted and it supported RAID 1 to boot. I really couldn't ask for anything better. Different colors for us lowly PC users, maybe?

Simple, effective backup strategy!
The My Book Studio Edition II is simply AWESOME! Setup on my Mac was an absolute piece of cake. Installed some software & backing up in literally minutes. I configured mine to RAID 1 (mirrored) so that my pictures are really safe - a copy on each drive seamlessly. My initial backup was 34GB & only took 30 minutes to complete. Seriously... Simple. I may never have to interface with it again (until I need to restore a file). The backup/restore software even lets you search for a specific file - much quicker than figuring out which DVD I backed up a certain file on.
If you have trouble setting this thing up, then you are probably an idiot!
