Great TV ... Great Price

(5 out of 5) by D. P. Kendall on Nov 17, 2009 (Miami USA)
Bought this TV about 3 months ago and could not be happier. Spent over 3 hours over 2 days comparing TVs side by side in the store. In the end, the LG won me over. We had a $1,000 budget and wanted a 42". In that price range, there was NOTHING that competed with the LG, great blacks and fantastic contrast. We looked at both LCD and Plasma. The audio could be a little stronger but we have it plugged into our surround sound system so it doesn't affect us. And we got it for under $700! Overall, for the price, this had to be one of the best buys out there.

Very nice

The delivery was excellent and we were not disappointed. This was a replacement set and I'm glad I bought it.

Just purchased, cheaper at HHGregg.

I have yet to mount this tv and use it, but I found it cheaper at HHGregg and purchased it there ($750). The HD cable hook up I purchased on Ebay for half the price ($24)they wanted at the store or online. I will update this review once I have used the tv for a bit.

I have used this tv for approx. 6 months and love it, great picture, very easy to set up and easy functions. I don't have HD yet, but the picture is very clear and sharp. I would recommend.

Great TV (& Price)

(5 out of 5) by Bry on Apr 6, 2009 (Ohio USA)
Picture
--Great Picture even before changing settings or adding HD.
--At the moment only connected to satellite & regular DVD
through composite cables and the picture is clear & bright.
--In 4:3 mode the sides are gray? Looks weird so I keep it in 16:9
--No blur watching sports or other fast moving scenes

Set up
--connect stand to TV with 4 screws.
--Instructions for TV on a pdf file on a CD

Remote/Menu
--Big buttons, comfortable in hand.
--Straight forward menu choices, and not too many,
I thought there would be more choices but basically 6
--1 Channel menu (for antenna channels)
--2 Picture menu (change ratio 4:3/16:9/Zoom1 or 2
also Contrast, Brightness, Sharpness, Tint)
--3 Audio menu (keep commercials at same level,
Clear Voice, Balance & some pre-set sound schemes)
--4 Time menu (set clock)
--5 Option menu (change language, Captions etc)
--6 Lock menu (parental controls, etc)

--Press Input on remote to chose between inputs like
Antenna, Cable, DVD etc (you can label the inputs
so no guessing) Also it automatically highlights only
what you have connected to chose from

Sound
--Better than most. (I turned up all brands at the stores
and none are great) Eventually I will get a surround
sound but for the moment its just fine

Price
--Couldn't pass up. Bought at Best Buy 4-4-09 $699.99

Conclusion
--Very pleased with this purchase

Great plasma tv, perfect for a room where you won't be using a BluRay. And for $750, how can ya go wrong?
