Left me feeling lukewarm about buying it

(2 out of 5) by CA on Jul 30, 2008 (Kal-lee-for-nee-ahhh)
I bought this to protect the body and LCD of my Sony Cybershot, and now I'm questioning my decision.

The inherent stickiness of the silicon jacket is just about on par with those reusable lint remover rollers, so it attracts and retains "fuzz" if you slip the camera into a pocket. And while it does give you a more secure grip when using the camera, you have to keep cleaning "peach fuzz" off the bloody thing which becomes really annoying after a while.

I was really disappointed with the LCD protector, I was expecting something better from the maker of the camera than the after market ones I've seen, and this one is the same... a thin sheet of plastic film that clings to the LCD. If I wanted something like that I would have bought the ones sold for a few bucks at Wal-Mart!!

I repeatedly found that the edges of it would become loose and curl up from the LCD due to the edges of the opening in the silicone jacket rubbing on it.

All in all, I think I would have been better off just buying a generic off the shelf case/pouch made for these point & shoot style cameras and I would have saved both money and aggrevation in the process.

One last point, while I'm not too satisfied with the product, my experience with the seller (One Call) was the opposite and I would have no hesitation to do business with them again.

Overpriced, doesn't fit well and the screen protector is worthless

(1 out of 5) by Al M. on Oct 22, 2008 (Arlington, VA United States)
I should've trusted the previous reviewer. The silicon jacket doesn't fit well on the camera and is thicker than I had anticipated. As mentioned by the previous reviewer, the LCD protector is a major disappointment. It gets pushed off the screen by the silicon jacket, so it's worthless. Don't waste your money on this. Just buy a nice camera case instead. There are plenty listed on Amazon for the same price or less.

useless

this is a useless accessory, it doesn't protect all the vital parts, and just adds to the weight of the camera.

Sony camera jacket a plus

(4 out of 5) by Thomas R. Thurlkill on Apr 9, 2009
The silicone jacket is great. It keeps your camera from getting scratched or fingerprinted. The only downside, which is minor, is that some of the buttons need a little bit more attention when using them to make sure you actually pushed them hard enough. Great product.

Couldn't Be More Happy With It

I had been scouring the Internet trying to find a merchant that sold this skin to no avail. This skin was out of stock in all the stores that carried it. Finally, I found a seller who was selling a couple of these for [...] apiece on [...] -- I snatched one of these up right away.

This skin snugly covers the entire camera, leaving only the screen, zoom lens, the battery compartment opening, and part of the dial exposed. It does come with a screen protector, so that covers that. The zoom lens is well protected when its retracted anyway. So, I'd say the silicone skin has all the vital parts of the camera protected from scratches and light bumps.

I just don't understand comments about this skin being a poor fit or about the skin having the tackiness of a roll-on lint remover - these claims are patently untrue - at least for the skin I acquired!

The Sony LCJ-WA Silicon Jacket does a really good job of protecting your Sony Cybershot DSC-W170 or DSC-W150.
