Great Picture, Great Sound, but a bit slow loading

(4 out of 5) by J. Jones on Apr 21, 2009 (South Florida)
Did all the online research and decided the BT100 from Panasonic was the best option for my small family room.

Wireless rear speakers were a plus and it only took me an hour to have this system up and running.

Blu-Ray picture quality is excellent on my new LG 47" TV and the surround sound was great after a few minor audio adjustments.

The only disturbing operation issue with this product is it takes forever to load the disc. You could brew a 10 cup pot of coffee while this thing is loading a movie. It takes so long, my TV starts searching other inputs for a signal. This product would have been a 5 star rating if not for this annoying short-coming.

If you have patience, this is a great product and the video and audio performance does out-weigh the disc load problem.

Good

This Product is amazing...Dont listen to the people that say its a long load time....who cant wait 45 seconds to watch a dvd.. This product is way worth its price i bought it for 543.00 when it is retailed at 999.99 in some stores for 1199.99. The rear speakers are wireless, the setup took me 3 mins. It has an ipod dock and it is loud. I love this product and i would absolutely recommend it to any body who has a panasonic tv like myself. Its a steal and well worth it no problems except for the shippping they just left it on my front porcg with out a signiture, and it wasnt even a concealed package so i am lucky i got home early that day.5/5

Great idea but mine was defective

(3 out of 5) by James W. Schutte on Jul 21, 2008 (El Paso, TX USA)
I had to return mine, as I was getting intermittent static from the front speakers both when watching television programs and when watching both DVD and Blu-Ray discs. I checked the speaker connections and even downloaded a firmware patch, but to no avail. On the positive side, this is an attractive unit with usually good sound quality and some nice features, such as wireless rear speakers and an integrated iPod dock and SD card reader. On the downside, the unit is slow to turn on and unusually slow to switch input sources, and the remote control is very cryptic.

I have had problems with this. It will not let me use the setup screen. Calls to the number listed did not help.

OK. very confusing remote control usage when connected to a cable box. rear speaker system mediocre. ok but definitely not great. not enough auxiliary connections.
