works perfectly

(5 out of 5) by R. daSilva on May 4, 2009
This switch works perfectly! My Dish box is on port 2 and PS3 is on port 1. As soon as I turn on the PS3, it takes priority and the TV switches from the Dish box to the PS3. When I turn off the PS3, the TV goes back to the Dish box. The priority system works flawlessly. If I still want to switch while both systems are turned on, I can just use the IR remote. I couldn't be happier. It's also smaller than I expected and very shiny so it looks great (although I have it hidden behind the boxes and only have the IR cable showing).

Great item

Great little item. Some of the reviewers below claim the video switching doesn't work, but it works perfectly for me. I have a DVD player and a cable box attached to it, and turning the DVD player on and off changes the input to the TV just fine. I've been using it for a week, and it works well.

Work as advertised

Purchased this product last week and received it in 4 days. The product works as advertised. I attached a Western Digital media player and DVD player on this switcher and it was able to determine which player turns on first. Once I have the two players on, all I need to do is press the switch and it flips without any problem. It comes with a remote control, which I tried. Works well too. I recommend this to anyone who is looking for a switcher. Why pay $40 - to $60 for brand name product?

Working fine for over a month

After reading the previous Amazon reviews, I decided to purchase this 3 Port Smart HDMI Switch. It successfully auto switches between my Sony PS3 and Panasonic DVD Player/Recorder, feeding my 1080p Panasonic. The only anomoly I see is that the DVD flashes a code on its display, but since everything works properly I haven't bothered to research it.

Like an earlier reviewer who mentioned that the lit red LED (indicating which of the 3 inputs is selected) is too bright, I too noticed that it was much brighter than any of the other components inside my cabinet with smoked glass. I remedied this by covering it with a piece of blue painter's tape - the brightness is adequately reduced.

Great little switcher

This thing is great. I tried the one from Monoprice first and had nothing but problems with it. My Xbox 360, PS3, Media Center and DVD player all wouldn't play through it.
Tried this one based on reviews.
I receive it, and think how small and cute compared to the last one.
Little remote which I like, but I will use my Logitech One to control it.
But I don't need it, the auto switcher works awesome.
I hooked up my DVD player, PS3, and my Xbox and all 3 worked flawlessly.
The auto switch clicks right over to the hardware just switched on, and when you turn it off it switches right back,
Just remember to hook your main item in port 1, and when you power on 2 it will switch and when you turn it off it will switch back to port 1.

Great little product, the IR receiver is kind of big compared to the remote and the actual switch but I don't think I even need it. The auto switcher seems to be more than adaquate.

Very fast shipping from the company as well, arrived a week early.
