I recently purchased a Sony Bravia 720p LCD HDTV and needed an upscaling DVD player to go along with it. I went with this player mainly because I already have an extensive collection of multi disk movies and television series on standard DVD. The Picture and sound are excellent and I would consider them damn near HD quality and in all likelihood the next best thing to a blu ray player. This is worth every cent of the money especially for people like myself with extensive collections of standard DVDs, and who wish to wait on purchasing a blu ray player until there is a more extensive, reasonably priced selection of them to choose from. This will probably be the last Non Blu ray DVD player that I'll ever own.

I bought the player in November and it has alrady died on me. It played fine while it was working but for longevity sake, not a great product.

We needed something that could be set with several kid DVDs without me or my wife having to change discs every 30 minutes to an hour (we keep electronics up out of the little devils' reach, of course), but we also wanted something of better-than-average quality we could watch adult or whole-family features on. Boy, did this baby do the trick! We've got an Oppo in our bedroom but I swear the upconversion on this Sony is as detailed and more true-to life; the Oppo is a little gaudy. This is the best electronics purchase I've ever made.

What a buy! Plays CD's and DVD's. An excelent choice for a home entertainment center, or stereo system. It has a really good price which dosen't empty your bank account. Shipping was prompt, and free! I highly recomment this unit.
