Nice, good-looking protector

(4 out of 5) by D. Solberg on Jun 11, 2009 (Minneapolis, MN USA)
The most interesting thing about this bag is the weird foam-like construction covered with fabric. It's sort of like the memory foam used on those beds in Brookstone, except that it starts off being much more solid. I think it does a good job of protecting my unibody aluminum MacBook because the rigid foam seems like it would give way in a drop.

The outside of the case looks upscale with striped brown fabric. In fact, it looks incongruent with my rugged backpack.

The size is just a little too big in my opinion for the unibody MacBooks: there's room in all directions, so my MacBook slides around just a little. This is a small nitpick, but some people might be bothered by it. On the other hand, the slightly thicker white MacBooks might be a better fit.

TSA Approved sleeve!

(5 out of 5) by Hapagirly on Dec 12, 2009 (Costa Mesa, CA)
This is a great sleeve! It meets my moderate needs perfectly, it fits nice, very high quality dense memory foam provides plenty of protection for my needs. Best of all as a frequent traveler you can leave your computer in the sleeve as is goes through TSA screening at all US airports (I don't know about abroad). I primarily use this as a basic dust cover and scratch/bump protector at home. I like that you can charge your computer while inside the sleeve if you insert your computer the correct way. The high density foam does a much better job at protecting low impact bumps than neoprene and the apple "sock". WHen I need more protection I just throw the computer (and sleeve) in a case intended to provide more protection. The zipper works great and there is a guard so you won't nick and scratch your computer when zipping it up. I don't have any problem with the way it fits and I do have a new unibody MBP. Overall well worth the price, just don't expect it to do things it wasn't intended for,

Very good sleeve with some gotchas.

I have a leather laptop case that doesn't quite fit my macbook pro 13 as it was designed for non-widescreen laptops; this Be.ez 100572 black/wasabi sleeve fits inside perfectly. The sleeve fits the laptop a bit too loose for my taste, but fortunately I got a Speck clear shell case along with it. The laptop with shell on gets a better fit inside the sleeve. Lastly, the sleeve does not have much padding aside from the material (neoprene) of which is made.

I would cautiously recommend only if using a shell case with it.

Good BUT only for macs, and not as hardy as I would like.

I do like the idea of this pouch type of laptop bag but it's so thin that it only fits the macbook and nothing else. maybe a couple sheets of papers but that's it.... Granted I got it for use in a larger bag so the laptop doesn't get scratched up but it could use a little more room.

The Foam is quite sturdy which is nice but then again it also squishes to nothing. It could be a little more hardy/harder to squish. This type of foam is probably good for the average person but I work in odd places and am a bit of a ruff person by nature so I would prefer more substance to the foam.

I tried this with a friends 13" screen laptop and seeing as this bag is so thin that his laptop wouldn't allow for the bag to zip up.

I do like the zipper on it though, it's a thick toothed zipper and the tabs are shaped to fit in between your fingers rather well. I found that to be an interesting touch.

Unusually good

This laptop sleeve is not the same as most. It is not made out of the same material as a wet suit. It's foam, which is actually hard and not very flexible. In my opinion it serves very good purpose of protecting your laptop, not only from nicks or mild scratches, but also from sharp and obtrusive damage.
