This laptop worked great for about 6 months and then the heat began. It gets so hot on the top and bottom that you either have to shut it off to let it cool off or it quits functioning all by itself. I know this laptop is not being made any more, but I wanted to help people avoid buying an older computer for less.
I love the look, but I need a laptop that will run all day. This is not it. Another thing, if you have an XBOX 360 and you use the DVD remote anywhere close to this laptop the entertainment program just turns on and looks for a DVD. That drives me nuts. Lately it just freezes up the computer and I have to shut down. Avoid this one.

After 10 months of Ownership!
I bought this with my 2008 stimulus check + $150. After owning a Toshiba 15.4" laptop and trying to run online using a T-Mobile aircard, I ended up destroying the Toshiba. I decided that if I was going to buy another laptop that I needed to invest in a 1.5 MB DSL connection. I was also impressed by the accessories that I bought for the Toshiba that were made by HP. I also liked the fold down size of this 14.1" HP compared to the rather large 15.4" Toshiba. And the Toshiba only had 80 GB of harddrive & 512 MB of RAM, which I increased to 1.5 GB. So this HP looked good on specs when compared to the Toshiba I had. The only problems I've encountered was the misunderstanding of disabling the scroll pad when using a mouse. The location of the A/V remote control. For some reason Window Media Player doesn't work on this unit at all, so I use VLC Media player instead. The DVD burner is junk and HP wouldn't let me take the PC to a service center, but is actually sending me a new optical drive which I have to install myself (this has taken nearly 4 weeks to arrange, and the replacement to supposed to arrive this week). While the computer continues to impress me, I can't stress how AWFUL HP customer service has been. In terms of Customer Service Toshiba is superior, compared to HP.
Great product!
Great product. Like the Vista. Have had for almost a year now-no complaints.
It's hot!!!
It is a very good laptop, and i'm really happy with it.
The only bad thing is that it gets really hot, and I haven't found a cooler for it.

Good and Bad
This laptop is very well equiped and the looks are stunning.
the only problem is it only works with windows vista.
I'm a hard gamer and i have computers with xp that have half of the stuff this one has and they work perfect. I tried to install Xp in this laptop, but turns out most of the drivers are ONLY for windows vista :S. Vista makes this computer soo slow, it makes you want to break it and throw it away. Have patience though, when the computer gets too slow for your patience, ur only hope is formatting it to make it less slow again. Once again, thank you microsoft for screwing us all, again.
