Must Have for Speaker Conversion
(5 out of 5) by R. Martin on Jun 7, 2008 (Corpus Christi TX)I received these speaker mounts yesterday afternoon and they are a well-engineered and quality product. These items are used to replace you Jeep-style speaker system with after market speakers in the front dash (4 x 6 speakers).
In my situation I used these adapters to mount two 4 x 6 Sony Xplode 4-way speakers into the panel that formerly held the stock Jeep speakers. If you are using Sony Xplodes in this mount I discovered an alternative to drilling a couple extra holes is to use oversized metal washers to catch the flanges on the metal speaker mount. It will save you some time and have the same effect. If your goal is to replace the 4 x 6 speakers with two 5 1/4 speakers, select the 33 Engineering 5-1/4" Speaker Brackets for 97-06 Jeep Wrangler (Pair).
I'm very happy with this product and purchase and changing the speakers to after market is a good decision. Now if I could only afford the gas to get the Jeep out of the driveway!
