Now after the specs, heres what i think about the notebook,
pros:
Excellend display although the reolution couldve been higher.
Best graphics card available for this size notebook, the nvidia 9500 is able to play crisis the demo (the most demanding pc game at the time of writing) with all options set to high. (not very high, this is when it lags).
Best finger print reader ive tried, always logs me in on the first attempt
Very fast deo processor (8100 @ 2.1 ghz)
Beautiful design, defenitly beats hp's silly glossy design (DV series, also this laptop offers the best of two worls as it feels extreamly sturdy while offering a very professional and sexy look.
5 ubs ports is amazing for a laptop this size.
DVI output to connect the laptop to a big HD display screen.
Although most reviews critisize the battery, i put it as a pro here as using the power saving mode you can actually change the max processor speed and while surfing i can get up to 2 hour and 46 mins out of it which is very acceptable for a machine this powerful.
Scores a 5.0 (catigory 5 laptop) with the windows experiance index.
Runs vista flawlessly as well as linx ubuntu.
No annoying junk installed when i opened up the laptop unlike my last sony where i had to spend hours removing everything.
Comes with recovery DVD's which now non of the compeititors offer.
Comes with an Asis usb mouse.
Comes with an Asus laptop carrying bad which looks much better than the one in the picture.
Stellar price.

now the cons:
The fn key is on the left while the ctrl key is next to it which makes it annoying playing games :) yes that is the only con i could think of !!

Have fun with this laptop and probably a life span of 5+ years (although i change my laptop every singel year, it seems this one is here to stay !)

Best Buy Ever!

May 16, 2008 - By POLAR

I'v been able to try many laptops, but until now, I haven't found any other who beats this ASUS F8SN-B1, and it costs only $1.200 (Including Case and Mouse), now you think "what about Alienware?" yes, they have better models, but the smaller one has a 15.4" screen and they cost twice as much, yup, and this baby has a 14" screen, which makes it very portable, combined with the Nvidia 9500GS, the Vista Windows Experience Score goes up to 4.8 (being 4.8 individually the lowest), so if you are still hesitating, think about the two years warranty and the one year warranty for accidents.
