A Good MP3 Player

(5 out of 5) by Weyman Swagger on Dec 23, 2008 (Baltimore, MD)
This MP3 player is a delight. It's easy to understand and use and seems to last forever on a single battery.
There are players with larger capacity but this four gig player holds hundred of songs, far more capacity than I can reasonably use.
One of my favorite uses is to turn on Christmas music in the shuffle mode and have it play in the background for 10 or 12 hours while people come and go during the holidays.
It's trouble free and inexpensive, a nice combination.

Coby MP300-4G Player/Flash Drive

(4 out of 5) by Andrew D. West on Dec 18, 2008
This MP3 player is very easy to operate even on our treadmill. It is also the largest flash drive and performs that function easily too. The one flaw for me is that it is not Rhapsody on-line compatible. Still a great value for me.

No digital rights management (DRM)- doesn't work with audiobooks

(2 out of 5) by Imapuma on Oct 13, 2008 (TN)
If you want a product that works with downloadable audiobooks (our library uses OverDrive), this product will NOT work as it does NOT have digital rights management (DRM). My husband has one of these that looks identical with only 2GB (the MPC895) instead of 4GB, so I thought it would work. Instead, they made a product with quasi navigation (this is significantly different from the MPC895) and took away the most important feature... the DRM. Now it (the MP300-4G) is basically useless.

I also REALLY don't like that you can no longer create an anonymous review!!!

Don't Do It!

(2 out of 5) by C. Taylor on Oct 8, 2008 (Washington)
I give this product 2 stars because it couldn't have been easier to upload songs onto it. Other than that this product has been nothing but trouble. My daughter (who has been very careful with her precious new MP3 player) has used it a total of 4 times. It PLOWS through batteries. And now it no longer works at all. It won't turn on. Although I'm still searching for answers, I haven't gotten any from Coby's 800 number.
I hear that Sony makes the best MP3 players, I guess I shouldn't have skimped to get this one.

DO NOT PURCHASE THIS

(1 out of 5) by Robert G. Generaux III on Sep 3, 2008 (Seattle, WA USA)
Within TWO days of having this it failed me. It's failure (which I assumed it would stop working in a few months based on other reviews) was tragic. I bought this because I was taking a few long flights and was heading overseas and I needed to listen to something. I figured 35 dollars for 4GB was a pretty good deal but it's not. Not in the least. This is cheaply made and even though I took as much care as possible with it, the flash memory failed. I spent over 3 hours organizing 80GB of music into a select 4GB and putting it on this device and it worked for one day and now everytime I turn it on it says "NO FILE". Also a friend that was staying with me in spain picked up a different Mp3 player from COBY. It was a clip on 1GB and it also stopped working and he explained that it NEVER worked with certain computers. To sum it up:

F*** this Mp3 player and F*** COBY you quality corner cutting sacks of S***. Go out of business, your products are garbage. I was so close to vomiting because I couldn't rate this Item any less than 1 star. If zero is ever an option I will be back to change it.
