Price / Perfomance is a "high five!"

(5 out of 5) by Anthony St Germain on Jan 16, 2009 (Louisiana)
Bought this product as an inexpensive filter / protection for the new LCD (Sony KDL40Z4100B).

Had the TV for a few days before the Belkin came in. Once the Belkin arrived I hooked it up and didn't mention anything to my son.

When he turned on the TV he called me and said "Dad the TV must be breaking in, the picture is getting better".

The colors were much more vivid and brighter, almost artificial they were so "there". Signal is 1080i via Motorola HD rx'er from COX cable fed to the TV through Canare 75 OHM RBG cables. Parts Express HDMI cables on the way.

Impressive for the power cleanup / price. In the process of running a dedicated 20 amp circuit for the A/V gear and will have ust this unit connected to it feeding all the A/V gear. We'll see what it does with an already good circuit / power.

Nice unit - worth the money

(5 out of 5) by ricky rocket on Dec 31, 2008 (MI)
I bought the Belkin PureAV a few months ago and I like it a lot. It has a high current input that is great for plugging in amps. I also liked the "switched" inputs. During an electrical storm the switched light turned off and stopped sending power to my components (which is what I wanted it to do).

One other very small feature I liked is that it came with tags (like TV, DVR, Receiver, etc.) that you can put on the cords of those components so that you can easily tell what cord belongs to what device. Comes in handy when you want to un-plug one and there's a mess of cords tangled up in the back of your audio/video rack.

The unit looks very nice and is well worth the price.

Great Product for the Money

(5 out of 5) by J. Aprile on Jan 9, 2009
I bought this unit after researching and looking at some of the higher brands, and I must say this line of power centers are fantastic.

Now I realize that some products are better then others as the components used in those products are higher quality, but we have gone thru multiple power surges and power outages since I have gotten it, and it has kept all of my home theater working perfectly.

I did not see the picture quality get better while using this (in fast when I ran the cable line thru it the quality got worse) but my picture was always good. However it did reduce the slight "white noise" I had in my sound system when I would flip channels.

I also love the sleek look it adds to my home theater components, much better then some of the other gaudier ones out there.

This is a great product to keep your home theater in great working order, and doesn't dent your wallet like some of the other brands out there.

Excellent protection for the price

(4 out of 5) by Jeffrey L. Patten on May 9, 2008 (Tucson, AZ United States)
I own the silver version of this product. Since I have had it, I have had no problems with ground loops (although, frankly, I didn't have problems with them before I had it), nor have I had problems with video distortion "wave" patterns on my cable TV (which I DID have before I bought this product. The feature whereby it shuts down the power if the voltage goes too high or too low has only kicked in once - the allowances are pretty wide, like I think it only cuts off power for high voltage when it exceeds 137 volts, somewhere in that vicinity - but it is good to know that I have some protection.

Frankly, if you buy this product, or any of the PureAV console products, for Belkin's MSRP, you're paying too much. The "street" (or should I say [...]) price when I bought it was around $[...], and I think it was well worth the money. The only product I've found that is seriously competitive is a UPS/conditioner made by Tripp Lite that you can buy at [...]. It retails for $[...] plus tax, is rated at 1000VGA, and provides 4 UPS/filtered/surge protected outlets and 4 filtered/surge protected outlets. Since I bought it, I've had the power flicker on me in a manner that used to cause my computer to turn off and start up through the whole Windows reboot cycle (using an old APC unit), and with this product, I didn't see or hear so much as a hiccup. To get the UPS products from Belkin, you have to pay considerably more, although I note that those products are highly reviewed.

In summary, do your homework, and do a lot of price comparison shopping, before you buy. I did, and I'm happy with my Belkin unit for my home theater and my Tripp Lite unit for my computer.
