Great little dvd player- tablet style with a great holder that will fit anywhere-- we used it in the rear-facing car seat on the front of the backseat, on the stroller handle, and it could fit on a crib or any area that has a bar to snap it on to-- lots in the box including a dvd player holder, and 2 headsets, a car charger, and a home charger. I have dropped this unit on concrete and it was fine and still works great- I just wish it had a brightness control but other than that its a great player for my 11 month old who loves baby einstein videos.

Product comes with all the parts needed to play a movie and attach the player to a headrest. Headrest keeps the unit attached without problem, but a little flimsy and switches often get caught and unit turned off as you take it in and out of the headrest. Sound quality and image are both good. Plays home burned DVD's in addition to published DVD's. Easy to use. Has worked perfectly without defect. Would buy the same unit again given cost and options.
Good portable DVD player

Was looking for a portable DVD player for the car for our 22 month old grand-daughter for Christmas. There's not a lot out there to fit the bill and the actual kid players did not get good reviews. Was glad when I came across this one with good reviews from other parents. We have been pleased with it so far.

We purchased a Coby portable DVD Player in June of 2009. It lasted until November before it quit working. The warranty states that labor is covered for 90 days and parts are covered for 1 year. When we contacted Coby they said that the player itself is only covered for 90 days. They said that the player is not considered a part. They tried to claim that the player itself is only covered under labor. We are still confused by the whole conversation. Bottom line COBY DOES NOT HONOR THEIR WARRANTYS. If you divide the cost of this product by the number of DVDs we played on it cost us about $15.00 per use before itself destructed.
On top of the problem that we had with the device failing after a few short months of little use, the product itself is not that impressive. It is complicated to navigate the menus and is not designed for use by children, so be ready to crawl in the back seat to change DVDs. To change a DVD, you must disconnect all 5 wires that are connected to the main devise, remove it from its clumsy pouch, insert the new DVD, and then put it all back together again. The product is also bulky and has wire running in every direction. Poor design and cheat construction. PLEASE DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. IT WILL ONLY STRESS YOU OUT AND MAKE YOUR CHILDEREN SAD. If I can save one person the stress that a Coby product would bring, then this posting would have been worth my time and effort.

We ordered this as a Chrismas gift for our daughter and upon opening it on Christmas Eve.... it did not work. Like other reviews have said, all it did was click. We opened the DVD player up and the laser reader was stuck, would not budge, and, thus, clicked. We were very disappointed.
But, the upside is that Amazon's return process was painless. I had a full refund, including the $7.10 I paid to ship it back to Amazon in less than a week. This is the first time I returned anything to Amazon and I was very satisfied. We ended up buying the Philips 9 inch dual screen from a big box store on Dec. 26. Unfortunately the Philips doesn't have a battery like this Coby! (But it does work!)
