Don't Waste Your Money
Save your money- this product died in less than 6 months-
and we only watch dvd's on the weekend-
If I could give it negative stars- I would.
Its a shame that a company can't make a product that will work-
and now we are back to watching dvd's on our 7 year old player in the basement.

Died after 6 months
This is a truly junky model -- I had bought an earlier Samsung model several years ago that is still going strong, but this one, after exactly six months, won't even read a dvd cleaner disc. And Samsung wants $43 in labor before they have even seen the player! Ridiculous.

Don't bother with this player
With the poor quality of this dvd player and the poor judgement used by their customer service, I would not buy this DVD player. I purchased this DVD/VCR in June of 2008. I used it maybe 3 times a week on average. Well after only 7 months, the DVD would not play DVD's. I used a cleaner to see if that would revive it. It still would not play DVD's. I called the company and they asked me to mail the DVD player back. Now I have a full time job and 3 kids and packing up a DVD player for mailing (finding a box, getting popcorn, packing tape, etc..) and dropping it off at a UPS location is not convenient. I did it anyway. I got a call a week later telling me that I needed to pay $42.80 for labor because the warranty was up but the parts were still covered. I asked what was wrong with this only 7 month old player and was told that they did not open it up yet. So basically they are charging me for labor but they have no idea how much time it will take to repair it. So it could take 2 minutes or it could take 3 hours but I still have to pay $42.80. So now this DVD player cost me $150.00 for what, I don't know. I could have purchased a better player for $150 I now laid out in total. Just ridiculous - don't waste you hard earned money like I did. Buy something else that is reliable.

DVD stopped at a 5 months
Like several others, I didn't notice so many negative reviews. I believe they have all happened in the last few months. Though I thought this was a great combo for the price, well--it just died. And when I saw that the labor warranty was out at 3 months--I figured I was "had." My good news is that I used American Express and can use their purchase protection to pay for this. Bad news for Samsung is that I'm unlikely to buy another of their products.
