good
In the lower chamber, I squeezed one Nikon D300 body (with 50mm lens on it), one Nikon 70-200 2.8 lens, one Tokina 11-16 2.8 lens, one nikon 1.7X tele converter and all the cards and batteries. I think this it the maximal capacity of this backpack.
In the upper chamber, I always put a vest there, in case it is cold somewhere.
It also deals well with my macbook.
Actually, I want to give this product 4.5 star. It will be totally perfect If it is a little bit wider (not so narrow and tall). I think a wider design will make more space available and make it more comfortable to carry.

Perfect
I didnt need a carry all for my equipment, just some where central to store it. This pack is great for getting everything I need to where I am at. Not practical for around the town, as I dont want to adertise that I am carrying camera equipment, plus carry a lot of what iam not going to need. But on the plane it is a must have. I would not be allowed another carry one unless it was all camera related. However, once I get to where I am going to shoot, I break it down.
Sturdy bag to carry your equipment on planes
I was getting ready for a trip to Africa. I needed something solid to carry my equipment in. The backpack is nice to carry your stuff around in the airport. I don't like it as much when I am shooting because you have to take it off to access the equipment. The backpack straps are solid and very comfortable.
TAMRAC 5586 EXPEDITION 6X BACKPACK
I find the Tarmac 5586 Expedition packpack to be of superior quality and very comfortable and meets all my photographic needs.

Solid bag but too big & bulky for my use
I purchased the Tamrax 5586 Expedition 6X based on the written specs/photographs to accomodate carrying 2 DSLR's and lenses + a tripod. This is a monster sized backpack that can do all of that. However, for my 5' 10" frame it was too much bulk and weight to handle. When fully loaded (inclduing a mid sized tripod) it weighed more than I thought would be comfortable carring around. Having received it I then thought perhaps I ought to keep it as a primary storage locker for my gear since it has plenty of flexible storage space in the main compartments; however, I would have preferred more zip-up compartments for storage of accessories. For instance, rather than have 2 large zip up storage areas in the inside cover, I would have preferred 1 large and (say) 3 smaller compartments which would allow accessories to stay separated. This was one factor that changed my mind about using this bag as a main storage locker.
The bag is solidly constructed...but way too big for my use. I gave it 3 stars based on the unsuiatability for my use.I have since returned this bag for a smaller Kata model which would still enable me to carry 2 bodies + lenses. I just have to figure out how to carry a tripod on my trecks!
